"Minus rank turners" = Ashwin is definitely a better batsman than a bowler...

How did Yasir Shah do on green pitches, he was very ineffective as well so this notion that you have some how Ashwin is good only on rank turners is ridiculous. No spinner will effective on green tops.

Most spinners do well on rank turners (it's almost a tautology here) - look at Murali for example. Currently, I believe that Shah is better than Ashwin but not by much. And when you factor in Ashwin's batting, he's a strong contender to become one  a top-notch allrounder in Test history.

Yes, in bowling

Silly comparison really, comparing a top order bat and a lower middle order one. Similarly, how is the comparison of Inzi and Ashwin's bowling even meaningful?

are you kidding? Had inzi been given decent opportunities in Test bowling, he would've ended miles ahead of Ashwin... even now if we compare ODI stats:

Inzmam vs Ashwin : ODI bowling stats around the globe

Inzi has mind blowing wicket takign strike rate of 19, at avg 21

wherease ashwin is just a name of struggle in ODIs, SR of nearly 40 with a part-tim-ish avg of 32...

Let me open this comparison thread actually, its worth opening...

Inzi bowled in what ? 5 innings in international cricket ?

The comparison is valid. Younis is a piss poor batsman on any pitches where the ball bounces higher than the hip from good length.

probably the worst batsman in the world to average 50+

True in that case he'd be averaging more than Inzaman and Mohammad Yousuf too.

Yousuf was one batsman who could match Ashwn's elegance. Inzamam looked and played like a pig meat chopper anyway. Ashwin as a long career ahead and will improve his numbers (even if they're better already)..

There is no such place where ball bounces higher than hip from a good length.

This is more about Ashwin being a  good batsman than Younis being a  poor one. Take out Australia and even Kohli's stats would be mediocre outside subcontinent.

I agree, ashwin will actually end up way ahead of sachin too in terms of match-winning efforts since Inzi whatever he might 'looked like' but was a 10 times bigger match-winner as compared to king of useless runs n match losing tons sachin...

Wrong. Kohli averages 68 in SA, 71 in NZ and in Australia he averages 62. Only place he failed was England and that was because of Anderson.

:phehe:

Yes, all of Pakistan should thank Aloo for saving them against Bangladesh at home 10 years ago - his batting and Rashid Latif claiming dropped catches saved their non-existant "Izzat".  Other than that one, what match has the walking talking shalwar tent won or saved for Pakistan?  Especially outside of Pakistan?

Great cricket yesterday. 65 runs in 53 overs on a benign pitch :nice:

Thats the biggest lie , Inzy being a match winner .. had a SR of 74 in ODI's lol  and in tests the only Test he actually won was against Bangla
