Jaffer looked very good in the U19 WC for a 16 year old. He displayed the ability to play authentic strokes without slogging....played with a straight bat. I hope he has or develops the ability to play the short ball. sscomp32 and Mosher 2 Link to comment

Rohit Sharma may score 50 zeroes in a row but will still be given a chance to grace us by his presence in test matches. He has a rare combination of lazy elegance , talent and session changing ability. He will get a rope so long that scientists have to be used to make that rope a reality. We have become too result oriented these days. We should not look at the runs scored but enjoy the lazily elegant, talented, session changing innings of 0 , 4, 7 etc. Those few, maybe very few, deliveries that he plays will help sustain us till his next innings. But...please do not go to the bathroom when the lazily elegant great man comes to the crease in a test match....you may miss a precious innings and may not even get to see the highlights as the broadcasters do not always understand the value of those precious little gems. The saying goes that all good things come in small packages....Rohit Sharma knows this ....that is why he does not extend his innings in test matches and keeps them small. Rohit Sharma has laid to rest the age old debate....does size matter ? ...,, looking at his test innings, now we all know that it does not. I hope he starts yawning in the middle of his test innings...that would make those elegant innings seem even more lazy and increase our enjoyment of the hurt of his batting .....er ...sorry... I mean the art of his batting. I am waiting with bated breath for the test series just to watch the genius bestow us with rare glimpses of his talent. Is there any scope for debate if a batsman ( Rohit ) has problems regarding test temperament... displays inability to play seam , swing and good quality spin.....does not want to learn from his mistakes.... gets out to rash shots with his team in trouble...averages 23 with SR of only 47 in the last 16 test matches ??
