M.Vijay may not be a player who will singlehandly win games when in the zone

he may not have the skills to create miracles

he may not be a player who will change games in a session

he may not be a entertainment-a-minute kind of player

he may lack aggression, flair and the xfactor

He may not have the ease of making the game look easy  or the elegance

He may not be a player you would pay a $1000 and travel 1000 miles to watch

what he has is temperament and patience.

players like this show that while cricket may be an entertainment where flair and excitement thrives there is still a place for these players to run a successful team :nice:

Vijay kind of players may not cater to my personal taste but boy I would want a player like that in any team I support....classy,old school and mr.dependable

M00Li along with Pujara form the spine of the Indian batting around which the flash-dancers do their thing.  Even Rahane, who I think skill-wise is the best test bat, is not dependable enough to do that job.

MV is actually a technically sound player and has been fairly consistent between 2013 - 2016. Unfortunately, he has started having way too many lapses of concentration of late and he is throwing away any starts. Today's dismissal was as disappointing as it gets and does not suit him at all. I still think he is a good opener, just needs to sort some stuff out mentally. But if Rahul is fit for next match and Parthiv goes on and gets a decent score and Nair does well too, then MV could well miss out the next game.
