How many home tests do we have in 2017 after the aus series that is.

10 test after this 3rd test against NZ. 5 against Eng, 4 against Aus, 1 against Bangladesh till Feb 2017. Then after CT there is 7 months gap which is filled by SL and Pakistan series. India already toured SL recently, so we could some other teams playing against India. 5-6 extra test matches. 15 test, I would Ashwin to take another 90 wickets to cross 300 mark before SA tour in 2018.

probably might be sitting under or above Z.Khan by the end of his career.

Zaheer record is not far away, 10 more test at home the 3 test in sl and after SA tour SL comes to India for 3 test series

Zaheer record would be gone by then.

Will easily go ahead of kapil, to beat kumble he has to do well in overseas.

WI is likely to come for a series if i am not wrong. Also SL hasnt visited India so they might be invited as well.7 months means at least 2 series.

Don't you think he is a FTB?

You mean a TTB   ?

He did well in the last WI tour and  we will  have to see how he does on his next tours to Australia, NZ, SA and England.

I think, he has not played in NZ  till now  and has played only 3 tests in England and SA  combined.

Has done badly in Australia so far.

Ashwin is 30.. with IPL/amount of international cricket and the demands on the fitness/batting , I doubt he would last more than 5 years and that may be just enough for another 200 wkts to be equal with Bhajji.

ps: Kumble had the advantage of not having to play ODI's post 2003..and that extended his career.

If his workload is managed in LOIs, he can play tests  till 38 or thereabouts.....which means 8 or 9  years.

WI pitches aren't real test for spinners. They are mostly spin friendly these days.
