I did not get hurt even then and u expect me to get hurt over this taimur who massacred the people who drove( nice way of saying drove instead of forced/pushed/killed) people who are probably my ancestors. Why on earth should i feel anything ?  I don't! Period. When chennai floods happened rest of india did not care and in fact one north indian posted a picture of the people dying in floods and said that he did not care or feel anything  for them as he did not consider them as indians and u really think i am supposed to feel for people in delhi who are massacred in 13 th century!!!! when there was drought in maharashtra for this whole year  Who cared??? But we have to care for 13th century massacre!   90 % of the people  who are  massacred are ancestors of present day pakistanis and they don't care and  i am supposed to care. Nice.!

 

Still I don't understand why get upset over this.  It is just a name nothing else to me. That taimur person would be been named Gattaca and still commit all those crimes.Name has nothing to do with this. The intention of naming  is important. Do u know for sure he named it to honor Taimur the invador.

 

Plus why target only SAIF. Why is kareena getiing  a free pass.? Simply saying she is dumb blonde is ignoring the truth and reality. You think kareena cares.? Don't want to respond to rest of this retarded post but 1. people from all over India did care for Chennai floods. Maybe it didn't get as much media coverage as it should have. 2. My post is not retarded it is bang on target. I have lost count of the number of times on internet forums North indians/Pakistanis have used this invasions/fair skin topic to insult south indians. I don't believe this anymore  because i have travelled all over India and know for a fact how mixed we are. Still  I did not get upset by this information taught  to me in history class so why get upset by 13 th century genocide that happened so far away from my place at a time period when there was no concept of India.

I am being sensitive. It goes both ways. I agree with Kabbirann . His was a sensible post.  I don't agree with your last statement. Hell, we have famed archaeologists like Sarianidi point out that a Dravidian migration north in historic times is more probable explanation of dravidian pockets in Northern subcontinent : perfect example is Brahui language. Early AIT proponents and Dravidian nationalists point it out as evidence of 'remnant Dravidian roots' in the north, but completely ignore the FACT that Brahui language has loan words in Baloch language, not early or middle Persian. 2. Was the media coverage lower than a Bihar or Assam flood? Even a comedian Siddhu, Kapil Sharma or big boss or even a Rajnikanth gets good media coverage. Are they as important? Most news channels r based out of NCR and are watched by people who understand Hindi. It's obvious that NCR, Mumbai will get disproportionate coverage.

I mixed this topic. Bea cause people are making this a muslim issue and talking only about saif. But this kareena kapoor is the same. I disagree, in this case. Timur is not a muslim name. It is a pure Turko-Mongol name.  So if Saif was ethnically A turk/Mongol, i'd understand the choice of name having nothing to do with Tamerlane. But Kareena said that Saif chose that name coz he is interested in history. Well, there is only ONE Timur in history that stands out. Rest are only passing mentions, minor noblemen here and there. By the way, this fair skin worship is a pretty sad and petty concept but to be fair, it's present in all cultures. Even South Indians prefer fair skin and Tamils who are as fair as Punjabis are often complimented for their skin by other Tamils. I know of this personally. Even in middle of nowhere Africa, China, Polynesia, fair skin is seen as a plus.

Sociologists have often wondered about this phenomenon and there is a lot of papers in this. One commonly accepted theory, is that fair skin, in any culture, is associated with people who don't spend a lot of time outdoors. Which means upper class/businessmen/rulers coz these are the people who are sitting inside their whole lives, while poor people, such as farmers, hunters,vagabonds spend most of their lives outdoors and get darker.

 

There is no evidence for it but this theory makes sense in terms of why every culture thinks fair skin is good.
