Handy medium pacer too.Would have been a pretty decent no.7 Unfortunately since we never had a decent wk bat those days , he always batted a position too high . Remember that knock against SriLanka where he was vomitting on the field and still fighting on.Agree always gave 100% . Mosher 1

I think there was Ankola or Prasad with Robin and Robin got run out with the scores leveled. That was another great innings by Robin. Jadeja had some memorable partnerships with Robin too. Those days if Sachin fell early I still used to have a little hope that we will win while chasing if these two batsmen were still there at the crease especially Robin. express bowling 1

I really like the transition between captaincy of Dhoni & Kohli has taken place .After being captain for such a long time,I really admire how Dhoni has started to play as a player under Kohli. Kohli has also given value to Dhoni ' s experience & seek his advice when needed. I really liked how the young & experienced players have performed every time they have got oppurtunity. Bench strength looking very good as Dhoni,Raina,Yuvraj,Nehra,Parthiv as well as Jayant,Kedhar,Nair have performed when they have got an oppurtunity. MCcricket Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Exciting times for sure, we have a captain who wants to win and is aggressive, we have a good pool of fast bowlers, batters, allrounders and some spinners, IPL has given us more exposure talent wise, also cricket as a profession has become attractive, negative BCCI and LODHA squabble, dumb selectors and reluctance to let go past by due players in shorter format, yes we need a good core and some experience but we cannot carry 3 passengers in each game. Some players like Pathan, some other players who wanna work on their game should be allowed to play county and other competitions like Bigbash. Reluctance to let go mediocre players like Dhawan , Rohit in different formats and picking players for right format and not mixing between different formats.

His fielding was great too. Robin and Jadeja used to run like crazy between the wickets. Both were brilliant runners between the wicket, which was pretty good for the 1990s.

fineleg Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) Kudos to the team for the recent WI, NZ, Eng wins. @Moth2Flame Acid test will be when we do away tours to SA, Eng, NZ and Aus. I'd like to see great fight and some good result from our team in those countries. Will that happen or not? under Kohli? Key areas to get better: 1. Strong opening batsmen partnership 2. High quality WK + decent batsman 3. Medium pacer allrounder who can bowl quite well, and bat avg to above-avg 4. Slip-catching abysmal - needs to change to consistently good 5. ONE spinner who can perform as a good support (and get a wicket or two per Inn) in SA, Eng, NZ, Aus type conditions. 6. Explore one more fast bowler from "India-A" and "India-B" squads incl new ones like Thampi et.al. @Moth2Flame Edited February 5, 2017 by fineleg
