jalebi_bhai Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 They weren't poor but I wouldn't say that they were anything special. Bowling is still very weak. Potential is there but I think they'd get more exposed in a full series. King Tendulkar and MCcricket 2
maniac Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 They do have a young pool of bowlers both fast bowlers and spinners....Taskin,Mustafizur etc can be groomed and spinners are decent. It is their attitude that needs a check....nothing wrong in self-belief but their bravado and over-confidence is usually their downfall. They need to approach tests with the intent of drawing them...once they lock the draw for sure, then if they still have a shot go for the victory. GoldenSun 1
Cricketics Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 This Bangladesh team can beat Pakistan or Sri Lanka in test matches at this time.
gakgupta Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 it was absolutely flat pitch....so game lasted for 5 days.... Quality isn't good enough. 3 tests would be really boring. But they should have given more one dayers. It would have been fun

They play SL next. And while it will be easier than India, I think their inexperience and immaturity on the batting side will cost them. And their bowling is actually pretty weak as well. Pacers are inconsistent and not wicket takers, they rely on spin basically 80% or more. Batting potential is better than Pak or SL, but execution is not there yet. And overall, they will be competitive but would still go down against those two IMO. SL series will be close and hard fought I expect.

This is what I meant and won't be surprised if they win soemthing considering SL batting isn't too great and that Bangladesh will be playig at home. Bangladesh beat England at home who might not be a great test team in subcontinent but still had quality players in there. But the series is almost an year away and Sri Lanka could have found a better batting line up til then. Let's see.

Wouldn't be surprising if they lost either. Temperament is flawed - they almost consistently seem to do the wrong thing at the wrong time. SL is weak and ripe for the picking, but still is less likely to self-destruct as much as the toygers.
chewy Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Rahim, Sarkar, Mahmudullah are all solid batsmen. They should continue producing spin friendly pitches at home, and push for 3 match series at home, especially against likes of England, SA, NZ and Australia (if they can grow a pair). I can see them beating these teams at their home. And they are lucky to have Sakib Al Hasan. Though they need a new captain, a leader. Rahim is too busy whining or over-excited and not leading.
speedheat Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 More then test they deserves a good 5 match odi series
rahulrulezz Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Wow look at some of the posts in this thread. And we Indians hace the audacity to call Australians/Americans racist. India only plays one sport i.e. Cricket, has 1.3 billion people and has the richest cricket board and still in the history of 100 years of Indian cr Cricket, we have not won a series in Australia or SouthAfrica. Go through the posts in the thread and replace Bangladesh with India and imagine posters were Australians. Then you would know how arrogant we sound.

India plays many sports eminently. Indian population is 1.25 billion. you added 50 million to it thats the population of SL+Aus combined or SA Many seem to want them to play a longer series so thats a good reaction to BD not being arrogant.
