Rate K L Rahul. He will become stellar

Rahul is at a time of his career where he is clearly trying to "come of age".

 

He is like many top test cricketers today who have been inconsistent in the past but have eventually gone on to improve and stay consistent after having played 20-30 test.

 

Rahul is playing exactly like those test cricketers but also showing extreme class in some knocks and extreme poor attitude in some by throwing his wicket. This shows he has it in him to score big but just needs to be persisted with to let him do that "coming of age" moment.

 

We have invested in the right guy. I don't mind him failing. Sometimes these failures of 2nd innings will bring him more lessons for his batting then scoring s gritty 50 on s tough track. Why? Because India has lost an opening test, he is injured too and not much fit and he is surely going through thinking that he has to score for India whenver he steps and shouldn't throw his wicket.

 

Defeats are always good for no.1 side at times to fall back onto. This defeat is great learning for Rahul too 

 

He is too good a talent. 

 

We are investing in the right guy.

Yeah, he needs to tighten up his defense and stop playing loose shots away from his body. When he is playing you never know when he is going to play the ball on to his stumps or poke a wide one to the keeper or slips. He doesn't have that assured presence at the crease. But he can work on those weaknesses and be a big asset for us. Right now, in our entire test batting line up only Kohli inspires fear in the opposition. The others are good too(at-least prior to this series) but don't inspire fear. We need more players like that and Rahul IMO has that potential.

This guy is quality.

He has the ability to make a mockery of good batsmen but has to tighten up his game a bit more.

 

He averaged 50+ in this series where other Indian batsmen average 8 facing real high quality bowling (based on form).

that was not a dumb shot, neither he threw his wicket away. Just bad luck and a stunner by Smith.

This is what I mean . Batted really well . Showed clear mental improvement this match . Much tighter and playing more on merit with less aggression . 

 

On upward curve . Learning and improving . Going to be fixture in team for looong time

when ball is that wide, you dont expect it to go slips unless a leg spinner bowling.

doesnt matter how wide the ball is, if u play an attacking shot and perish, its always the batsman's fault.
