Kumble stormed into umpires office when Kohli was given out

Aussie papers are running with this. I don't understand why Kumble or any Indian is unhappy with the decision. DRS protocol was followed to the tee and he was out, unlucky, but very much out.

Cheater Aussies dont have a leg to stand on.

DRS decisions say that the umpire's decision stands, but problem here is not exactly that.

There are two problems.

Before even the DRS can come in to see the ball tracking, there was bat involved, it should have been given in batsman's favor.

Remember Kohli reviewed it not because he was give  LBW because he felt ball was too high or going down, he reviewed it because the ball had hit his bat.

So if the umpire has doubt that the ball hit the bat or not, he can not proceed to see the ball tracking.

So since bat is "perhaps" involved, the decision could go in Kohli's favor.

But regardless of all of that, Kumble shouldn't have gone to Match Refree in the middle of the game. That's unsportsman like conuct from Kumble. He needs to calm down if that really happened. You have to take the decision and move on. It is part of the game.

The rules state that IF there is inconclusive data to over-rule umpire's decision, then the decision stays.

Kohli was 100% out according to rules.

The real issue is the stupid DRS rules where even benefit of the doubt gets over-ruled due to technicalities. Any fair system would not give that out.

Found Warner's dismissal to be dodgy too.

I disagree with your interpretation. Reviews are successful if there is enough evidence to overturn the on-field umpire's decision and there wasn't enough evidence to suggest it bat first.

Yes, and hence what I mean is that had Hotspot been available, this review would have stopped right there and decision would have reversed.

Since it wasn't, so they moved on to ball tracking.

Hotspot is missing and badly needed.

Hotspot wouldn't have helped him IMO, if you looked at snicko (or what ever you guys call it) there was a half spike before the full spike, meaning pad first.

True.  But now he has shown unequivocally that he is willing to push the envelop to stand up for his men.  And the trust and confidence he has earned from the players due to this is invaluable.

Next time the cunt comes to the G I'm gonna tell Boonie he took the last beer, the 3rd umpire will be the least of his problems then.

I am surprised how the on-field umpire gave Kohli out  !

There was no way he could have been certain that it was pad first...... and the benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman.

Nothing to be surprised. On field Umpire thought the ball never touched the bat and hence he gave it out.

It wasn't a bad decision or a howler considering even with slow motion replays which were shown, it was hard to decipher if the ball ever touched the bat.

So on field umpire was within his right to give out. Here only the third umpire can be questioned.

That is the kind of behaviour and " honesty "  we expect from you too.

It was so close that it is not humanly possible to be sure, without replays, whether the ball hit the pad first or the bat.  In this case, it was not possible even with replays.

In case of uncertainty, the benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman.

YEs but he thought bat hit leg and not the ball simce their was not much noise from the bat on ball as it was bottom edge. Many umpires would give that out at first sight and some won't. He was the umpire who thought it was out and gave it.

We need to get the Hot Spot and use all the technologies.

Can't blame on field umpire for these kind of decisions.
