Laaloo Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Not as a specialist batsman. I'm sure we have loads better option.
rahulrulezz Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Btw look at Kedhar Jadhav stats. He stands out in the crowd with his strike rate. And that's not one off thing. He has been the only cricketer in domestics to maintain an average above 50 with a strike rate above 100 season after season. I am so glad finally people are noticing him. Jadhav is the perfect guy for our team. He hates playing dot balls which is an issue with most of our star players aside from Kohli and Raina. express bowling, Texan, Brainfade and 3 others 6
Sooda Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 93 vs a good India A attack today. He should be a contender for the middle order in ODIs. In the past hes suffered from being shuffled around the lineup too much.

Time n again he has blown his opp and he has no one else to b blamed then himself . Dnt need someone who scores in pressure less domestic tournaments and warm up games but chokes wen the heat is on. No doubt he is a terrific talent but lack temperament the most important thing in international cricket Mosher and Ultimate_Game 2

Yes he struggled in ODIs but he is now a much better batsman than what he was 3-4 years ago. His issue is with temperament is regard to his keeping .That's mainly a concern in test cricket. Here he is practically outscoring every other domestic batsman by distance .If he keeps this form through IPL , he definitely deserves a call up to ODI team.

His problem is performing on the big stage. He was good for awhile as a Test opener, but was never going to be a long term option. In ODIs, he has disappointed. Average of 28 and SR of 73 is poor in this age. Even if you consider matches where he played as a specialist batsman, average and SR are still pretty much the same. He has got plenty of opportunities at the top level. He showed similar form in warm-ups to the last CT and after the CT, went off the boil again. There are many younger players who deserve a look in.

BeautifulGame Posted March 28, 2017 Author Posted March 28, 2017 K Pandya and Saurabh Tiwary did. Tiwary has got a raw deal in international cricket so far. Sourab Tiwary is ur definition of an youngster deserving chance ? Seriously? The guy is a proper hack and badly exposed by IPL . He should be nowhere near Indian team. K Pandya is a decent option as an all rounder. He will most likely be in contention if he does well again in IPL. Sidhoni 1
Magneto Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 The man is in the form of his life. Deserves a comeback and might do much better than Dhoni.
Hell Raiser Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Deepak hooda should be the player to be brought into the team. He can be the ideal batsman to play in the middle order. Should replace yuvraj singh after champions trophy as yuvi is certain to play the CT and no new player will be tried during CT. Pant, Hooda and Sarfaraz can really make this Indian team a power house if they can fulfil their potential.
Sidhoni Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 He fully deserves his spot. The past selections of this selection panel also doesn't suggest they will overlook this.
Pollack Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Dinesh Carthick is Umar Akmal of India. Have all the shots but no temperament. Somehow get back into the team at regular intervals only to fail. sensible-indian 1
sensible-indian Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 (edited) Selecting Dinesh Karthik would be a step backward. Already we have Dhoni and Yuvi (whose performances cannot be predicted) and now we have to add Dinesh into the mix too. Too risky. We won CT 2013 cos we went with a young team. Better to lose with a young team than to hope for a victory with Yuvi, Dhoni, Karthik and co. Even if we win, there isn't much use as they are not likely to last for the next WC.
