Not as a captain but as a batsman, yes.

Our media was equating him to srt last year which was ridiculous. He is a few levels below Sachin in all facets of batting. Atm he is not even comparable to dravid, laxman, viru in tests but he might surpass at least 2 of them in the coming years. But no way is he ever getting close to srt and sunny.

In ODIs he is never going past srt.

Overall in terms of accomplishments he isn't a top 5 bat this decade but has the potential to be top 3.

He needs to fix many holes in his test batting. In ODIs he has to deliver in world cups where he has been a bacchha in front of the likes of srt, viv, abdv, ponting and a few others. Also he needa to deliver in matches in rsa, aus, nz and eng against their first string attacks.

Who was better captain than him ? I have not seen a better captain than him captaining India. This nonsense that he is overrated captain is just ridiculous. Show me one captain  in history who has better ideas when his no 1 bowler struggles to pick up wickets. He may be be over exuberant and demonstrative but I do not see how it is a bad thing.

 

Now let us talk about his batting , he is best batting captain India ever had and people are complaining about his batting. Yes he had bad series so what, every batsmen has few but when he is on song he carries the team. 

 

It is sports other teams get paid too, we have to compliment Aussies for competing well.There is no rule written anywhere that India will win every match at home on any ground against any team.Getting twenty wickets with four bowlers is hard job on flat wickets.None of the Indian batsmen bowl so there is no SRT or Sehwag picking up vital wickets which are needed sometimes.

Firstly what do you want him to do. Be passionless like Dhoni. 

Steve Waugh, Ponting, GSmith were all in your face leaders. He has his own personality and he should stick to that. He won under 19 World Cup without loosing a single match. He got India the longest winning streak in the history of Indian captains. So his personality is working. 

 

Yoiur second point is full of bullsh1t and I am not gonna bother replying to that. 

 

Third, he also quoted in press conference that your Bangladeshi team is not peace of sh1t but actually a very good team and will become champions with time. Does it mean he researched on your team from day 1. He has a team of analysts telling him who does what. Someone in his team informed him about Healy and he brought it up and exposed double standards of some critics.

He has been a captain for just 2 years.thats a short time. Probably we can evaluate after 5 years. He got the right attitude. Players can go out of form too. This is just three matches pretty sure a big one is due. Kohli though is like kl Rahul he either scores consistently or just doesn't deliver consistently in a series.

As a bat I always feel he is a little overachiever. Has some weak areas in his batting which were not exploited due to lack of good bowlers.

As a captain he is as good as any. Little immature at times but can't doubt his intention and efforts.

43 international 100 till.....if he is overrated well who isnt then

The guy who a few weeks ago had an avg above 50 in all format.....how can he be overrated????

Best chasers the game has ever seen.......

As a captain- look at his record..........

now ull say he has played at home.....if take home victories out of any indian captain record .....kisi ka kuch nhin bachega

About overseas......let him go 1st and then take a call

 

His captaincy is work in progress.........he doesnt have the luxury of seniors helping around in test cricket. Most players have same exp. Captaincy depend a lot on core team as well.

No captain is perfect ..........everyone will have their own flaws and strengths

Dravid doesnt have good record in sa n sl ...........

 

He is struggling in turners........well u seems to be started seeing cricket recently. As u forgot the guys has 200 in all last 3 home series
