It was not as if the Reqd RR was 10+. All they needed was a decent platform and they botched it. Maybe they thought they could succeed like how KKR did with Narine's promotion but that pitch was fastish and the ball was coming on to the bat so sloggers could actually hit through the line and had a chance to succeed. I would consider it a bad move coz they had someone like Krunal pandya who has more ability with the bat and could've been used as a pinch hitter instead of McClenaghan. Krunal is used to such kind of wkts and more used to hitting spinners around and had a much better chance to succeed. Pollack 1
