Mosher Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Nasser is great with these analysis videos Yorkers would have been more potent had they not implemented the 2 new ball rule. This rule has made fast bowlers even more toothless. Ankit_sharma03, tweaker, AuxiliA and 1 other 4
speedheat Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I saw a interview of Wasim and akhter in which they were talking about how to practice yorker, wasim said that they used to practice bowling yorker with metallic ball heavier then cricket ball and bowling them at least 2meter behind the popping crease which made things easier when they had to operate them on actual cricket pitch with cricket ball, i think current era bowlers aren't practicing it enough. tweaker Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Great analysis by Nasser Hussain. For Yorker to be more effective the bowler should be able to bowl at 140+ kmph speeds. Now every bowlers are bowling Yorkers & the surprise element of the Yorker has gone. Most of the batsman now comes prepared for the Yorker. The bowlers should use the Yorker as wicket taking delivery, but most of them are using it to contains runs. rkt.india Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 when was yorker in fashion anyway? Yorker is the toughest delivery to bowl.

Another gr8 analysis by Sky sports n team @express bowling @Mosher @rkt.india @maniac @sandeep @Ultimate_Game @speedheat @tweaker @Straight Drive @Pollack @sscomp32 You need to read Jarrod Kimber's in-depth article on the yorker. You will understand a lot better why 'yorkers are going out of fashion' after that. http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/1092113.html
sscomp32 Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 WOnt get blocked since its from official site. Anyway alternate link : https://streamable.com/h474r P.S. I have seen this already :) sandeep 1
Vilander Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 more i see it more it becomes obvious why pace is important.
sandeep Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Kimber actually references Hussain's video on yorkers and points out the glaring missing factor - the mobility of the batsmen in 2 directions around the crease - batsmen are moving forward and back to change the length, or sideways in either direciton to give themselves leverage. Even if you get the yorker exactly where you aim it, you will find that the target - the batsman's blockhole, isn't where it was at the point of your delivery stride. Bowlers need to be able to change their length, line, and speed as late as possible while keeping an eye on the batsmen's movements. And maintain accuracy. Its a tough gig. Only makes me appreciate the likes of Bumrah, Bhuvi etc even more.
