Number Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Generally batsmen tend to look where the ball has gone. What Dhoni did was not right but I dont agree that it was a fundamental mistake. It was a case of too many things going wrong at the same time which doesn't happen often. Non striker already committed to the run before realising ball has gone directly to the fielder. Fielder throwing to the non danger end. Then Direct hit. Even then he was just an inch short. Shows how great a runner he is.

Check how long he was just walking slow and the moment he the fielder thought of throwing the ball at his end, he started running fast.
