Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal has been asked to return from England after he failed two fitness tests in two days, ahead of the Champions Trophy next month. The selectors are considering Umar Amin and Haris Sohail as replacements.

"He has failed two fitness tests during the ongoing camp there in England ahead of Champions Trophy," PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan told ESPNcricinfo. "So since we have a policy not to carry unfit players, it has been decided to call him back and send a replacement. We have a deadline until May 25 so we are deliberating on the possible replacements."

In an annual assessment earlier this year, Akmal had weighed 91kgs with a fat-level reading of 115.6 - a measurement of over 100 is considered high.

91 Kgs:afraid:

Akmal, who had been included in the Champions Trophy squad after previously being dropped in the aftermath of Pakistan’s 4-1 ODI series lost to Australia in January, has been asked to travel home from England.

^ Yes, he had some disciplinary issues going on as well, almost like always... Probably that could be the real reason...

Emad, Azhar, Yasir, Sharjeel, Akmal are all over-weight... More than half of team is not entirely fit...

Misbah and YK were fittest actually

Shoaib Malik is the fittest.

New players like Shadab, Hassan and Nawaz are also fit.

Akmal is 5'2- 5'3 , He should be around 60kgs-70kgs max.

I have no clue on what grounds he passed fitness test, Was a parchi pick probably as his performance wasn't anything substantial in domestic.

Inzi is the last guy that should be judging cricketers on fitness :hysterical:

Why was he selected if he had already failed tests previously?

A farce. But more entertainment for bored Indians.
