At times u need to give crediot to opp. Top bowlers can have off day ....its ok Current stats that we are shown are becoming more and more useless.. we should see the economy of jadeja when bowling second and when the target is > 300. When we bowl first, most other teams too plays like us , score at 5 or 5.5 till 38th over and then cut loose. This way jadeja would probably be taken for singles and his overall career economy might look better.

Tattieboy Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 These bowlers are not going to bowl SA out to win game so you pick your best high scoring batters, get them in correct order and send them out telling them they are best bats in the world , go put 400 on the board or if batting second we will score more than them whatever they score. A lot more positive mental thinking required
kubrickian Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 (edited) I think Shami will replace Umesh. If Ashwin comes in for Hardik, we lose some batting power at the back end. It also depends on the pitch. If wicket is very flat, Ashwin may not be very effective but he could do well if pitch is a bit two paced. His experience and having bowled a lot against Saffers in IPL is an advantage. Also Saffers would feel more comfortable against Hardik than Ashwin. Yuvi is suspect against short deliveries at high pace. It wont be easy for him against Rabada, Morkel, Morris etc. but if he gets going, he will make the opposition pay. Kartik is known to have bottled it in big games but could do well because he doesnt have problem against short deliveries and he is in good form going by what he did in domestic cricket, IPL and warm ups. rkt.india Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 We really dont know about Shami's form. He was poor in IPL too, but will need to take a chance, bring him in place of Yadav. Ashwin might do better if the game is at Edgbaston, so Bumrah might be left out too. Dont think Pandya will be dropped. I will rather drop Jadhav who is an abysmal fielder and is barely getting much batting. Pandya needs to bat in top 6.
