maniac Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 ^ that was a joke btw...I think those methods are terrible and human rights violation fk the chinese
King Tendulkar Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Look it's not about selectors with brains frankly it's about having selectors who have freedom to discuss and pick players who they genuinely think shoudl be picked looks like we still got quotas and navkroom picks rather then best players being selected

Yep, I remember even young Kohli kept getting dropped even though he made it to the Indian team. He had no business of getting dropped from ODI for other players many tried their best to keep him out of the 2011 world cup ahead of other young players only that tour to south africa before wc cemented his place for wc and others failures. Selectors should remember that its fne and important to give young players chances in the team, but also to back them for more series and not just drop them after few performances. This is what I want for Kuldeep and Pant. If they are ordinary in few games, they should be still backed and given longer run. Don't just pick young players to show in your resume and drop them after one series and say "we gave them chance." Back them for longer period instead of calling other tried ones back and forth on a regular basis.

Kohli was always in the scheme of things though that SA tour made him a star.He never had failures but yes was backed by the mgmnt but he also grabbed every chance he got...youngsters can learn from that

Hopefully selectors realize that and give these younf players including guys we do not talk about much like Ishan Kishan a longer run. I would like to even try Kishan and Iyer also

MCcricket Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Sarfaraz Khan , Avesh, Samson, Nitexh Rana , Pant, r guys who need to be promoted among others, especially Sarfaraz is special n looks like Virat doesn't like him, going by RCB past. Unstable Joe, Cricketics and SecondSlip 3

This is where we need selectors to show confidence and also Kohli as captain must show confidence.

Also Khejroliya needs to go on some A tour or play for India A to see if he can be fast tracked. The guy looks special talent and can be fast tracked provided he does well in A games. Also important to note that he might have a body which might make him injury prone down the line, so it will be nice to utiliize him by ensuring proper attention is paid towards his schedule and load down the line. He is someone who can definitely play for India Unstable Joe and MCcricket 2

BeautifulGame Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 These are quota guys from their respective zone. Its because the process is like that.None of them are there because qualified to be Indian team selectors .It's a joke. That's why CoA wanted to abolish it but still continues to be in play.

He made debut in 2010 but became really consistent and phenomenal 2012 fag end. Watch his Debut series in Lanka in 2010 . Thing is he was lucky Vengsarkar was there to give the break at 19. Otherwise he would have been slogging in domestic level for at least 3-4 years .

Any player who makes debut now will take 2 years minimum to establish himself. So, we need to give new players chances ASAP. This WI tour was a golden chance. We needed to give debut to Pant, Nathu, Kuldeep, Samson on this tour. Edited June 24, 2017 by rkt.india
Sandeep99 Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 What a joke! These mediocre guys are now selecting 'talent' of their times - Yuvraj and Dhoni, and actually believe Dhoni is still the best wicketkeeper batsman going around. Someone please give them time machine and a kick on their butts. MCcricket 1

Not many others are getting a chance to prove themselves in Indian team. Indian team has become fiefdom of certain individuals and the coach or selectors or anyone else seem to have no say in this matter. This is not a good trend. Sachin, Dravid, VVs, Sourav have to step in to save Indian cricket. You may think I'm exaggerating because the results are good to decent at the moment and it may seem like there is no crisis but it may not be in the future and then it will be too late to do anything.

Pollack Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Damn! Nathu needs to get a chance. Beginning to fear it will be too late and we may waste yet another pace bowling talent. Not everyone(especially bowlers) have patience to wait for selection. Many can just give up or regress badly if not provided an opportunity at time they are ready.

Worrying thing is the new cancer of player management firms and personal stake /interest of players in those firms . Things are moving to a situation where some such players are in a position where they can influence in team selection. This is a phenomenon which have crept in the last 4-5 years but we are able to sense it only now . Never thought there could be something when same set of players use to get selected again and again and very few chances given to others . Thought may be Captain is seeing something in a player which we could not . How many new players were tried for places where some deadwood are preferred ? Seems like there is a deliberate attempt not to give playing chance to youngsters who are in direct competition for places currently occupied by these deadwoods/ non -performers . If some one is not vying for such places , then only that youngster is given chance -- like Hardik Pandya , Bhumra
