Looks like some guys just figured out what GOAT means lol, smh, n yes he has bakras of all Indian cricket , selectors n fans, deserved to be rested forever four years back

Ya he is captain of wc 2011 and some keyboard is angry he is still playing even though he is fit. What happened in seilanka because of dhoni we were able to clean sweep the series Indian batting order is still vulnerable to callapse.

Yes, but you also said that the problem with Rahul and Dhoni for #4 is they don't blast from get-go. i am just pointing out that as a #3/#4, you don't need to blast from get-go 99% of the time. And the 1% of the time you need to (as in 2nd wicket fell after 40th over), you are better off sending your #6/#7 for quick runs than your regular #3/#4 anyways...

The difference is Rahul can rotate the strike and he doesnt rely on sucking up the momentum and then facing a trundler like Faulkner at the end and hit a few cheap boundaries so his numbers look good.

if Rahul doesn't rely on identifying the weakest link of the bowling unit and plundering him, one should teach him this basic skill.

Are you a sports fan ? really ? because sports is about winning. Not honor-contest. there is no extra prize for smashing the best bowler, there is only one prize: winning. And easiest way to win, is to exploit the weak points of your opposition.

Dhoni these days bats the same way as Misbah...dealing with boundaries and dots when starting, rotaintg srtike when set and trying for big shots near the end. Perfectly valid way of batting for #3/4.

yeah Dhoni is like Misbah. :nice: As soon as Pakistani got rid of him, they started winning.

in what delusional world, do you think a guy who is easily the best limited overs keeper in the nation, has the highest average this year so far (and this year is almost done), 4th highest runs scored and 5th highest strike rate, needs to be dropped ?

Sorry, but your agenda against Dhoni is showing when you back a noob with failures in A-tours as an option over a guy who's performance is far, far above the average performance required by a wicketkeeper in LoIs.

It's easier to average high when you're not looking to score a boundary and happy to not take risks until the 49th over. Pant can come and not rely on the other batsman to do all the work so he can lollygag at the other end.

If you dont want to get embarrassed in the next world cup again, then yes its time to move on from Dhoni.
