putrevus Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 What is this fascination to name everything Rajiv Gandhi. King Tendulkar and AuxiliA 2
LordPrabhzy Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 What is this stupid obsession with naming everything with a Gandhi name. The sooner this family disappear the better! Cricketics and King Tendulkar 2
Vilander Posted November 17, 2017 Author Posted November 17, 2017 lol...every poster feels the name is not appropriate. Why so many Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru stadiums across India ?? why ?
TheWall Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Beautiful stadium. But they need to name the stadium after some sportsperson... not politicians... Straight Drive 1
Vilander Posted March 21, 2018 Author Posted March 21, 2018 Hey great news. Looks like this stadium will host BD vs Afganistan. http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/101117/dehradun-considered-as-venue-for-proposed-bangladesh-afghanistan-series beetle 1
Cricketics Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Why after Gandhi? They could have kept the name after Dhoni actually who has roots from Uttarakhand, and can make one stand after Ekta Bhisht who is the first women cricketer from there. Screw these names of sporting arenas after politicians. I won’t mind a a cricket stadium as Bhagat Singh stadium though. King Tendulkar 1
CoverDrive Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Can we name atleast the sports stadium after sportsmen themask 1

This stadium is not in hills unlike Dharmshala. Stadium is in foot hills and day temperatures will be in high 30s to low 40s in June. Edited March 22, 2018 by rkt.india

I guess it is a case of anyone over Rajiv Gandhi jokes apart same thing with Hyderabad as well...maybe after VVS Laxman instead of Rajiv Gandhi or even Jaisimha or Pataudi
Vilander Posted March 22, 2018 Author Posted March 22, 2018 BTW no IPL game for this stadium in horizon. Hell even Dharamshala wont get a game this year, per released schedule.

Nov is fine, Dec is okay too but mornings and nights will be chilly with temp in single digits though will be better than Dharmshala, which is at higher altitude. Dehradun stadium isn't more than 500 meter altitude.
