Yeah I didn’t think Nair had it on him either but just talking in terms of how players are treated these days...I mean even if it the greatest fluke ever,if a 300 doesn’t get you an extended run then don’t know what will.

I dont think 300 can be a fluke , Nair has shown these qualities of scoring big even in domestic and had he got the opportunities he deserved am fairly certain he would have got couple of more hundreds . May have struggled in SA , but then so has everyone else !

Not his biggest fan , I feel even potentially hes a touch below our normal batting standards but a good batsmen to have around . Unfair nevertheless , so yes KL can easily be discarded with no one noticing it .

I have said this a few times , Rahuls best bet is have an awesome IPL season and build a fan base .

Yusuf and Uthappa I feel did this but were still harshly treated by selectors.

I think Rahane # 5 but we still need Vijay but instead Parthiv we need Saha who took 10 catches in previous test Equalling 3 world record

droppting Vijay is not right solution because we need stronger front line who can help us REMOVES THE SHINES OF BALL. So it’s easy for our middle order to MILKING

Vijay

Dhawan

Rahul / p.patel

pujara

kohli

Rahane

saha

Ash

Pandya / Jadeja

bhuvi

shami

bumrah

( Rohit not need for overseas test)

Day Of Game we have to decides whom we need to drops.? Rahul or Pandya.?

depends on track.

newzeland and England too keep two Keeper sometime in test matches as one of them specialist batsmen

Vijay has hundreds in England and Australia, some crucial knocks, blunted the SA attack last time round albeit looked edgy last game. He is a far better test batsman than Dhawan. Dhawan should be booted out.

Diffrent time different game.

When it comes to Dhawan and Rohit people seem to bring up their overseas failures and totally brush off their success at home.

Doesnt the same thing apply to Pujara who has a pretty mediocre overseas body of work as well even though scores a million runs at home.

I know that is a taboo topic on here :giggle:

but how come same measuring stick stick is not applied to him?

While I know there will be overflowing hate on here for this topic,I am not suggesting Pujara to be dropped at the expense of accommodating Rahul,Dhawan and Rohit.

I am merely stating what a lot of people have said in support of Kohli that he backs Dhawan and Rohit because of their attacking game.

To be honest Pujara has a history of playing innings that go no where overseas as well...Sure he may be better than x and y but that is not the point,I am solely saying this as an alternative if we buy in to the theory that Kohli is not biased but loves attacking cricket.

So is this totally left field or do you think there is a possibility?

Pujara made 153 in SA last time. At this point dispensable players are Dhawan, Sharma, M Vijay. But we need an opener. So M Vijay can be retained. Hope they don't make outrageous move like dropping Saha for Parthiv. It can elongate your batting line up. But his keeping will come back to bite us. I would suggest Saha being given more responsibility with bat. Pushing Ashwin every time at 6 doesn't do good for both Ashwin and Saha.  Dhawan can be replaced by Rahul. Sharma by Rahane. If they want additional batsman Ashwin can be dropped too.

I personally think Pujara is more reliable than even Kohli on a challenging track...I was merely pointing out the line of thinking which was Kohli prefers attacking cricketers...that is the only context it makes sense.

Pujara averages 38 in SA

Dhawan averages 18 in SA

And Rohit Sharma averages a mighty 11 in South Africa.

Zaheer Khan has a better average than Rohit in South Africa and all he would do is swing hopelessly.

This is even beyond blind fanboyism.

Dude again you are hating without reading the OP.

you guys are only reading the title or what?

again let me summarize

This is only in the context of  The premise that Kohli’s strategy being based on encouraging attacking cricketers over defensive ones.
