Forever Indian Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 (edited) This is it! Other than ODI WC playoffs, nothing else comes close to giving this much high and excitement for me. Hope the team performs well in this challenge! Edited January 4, 2018 by Forever Indian express bowling, sandeep, Gollum and 4 others 1 6
SK_IH Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 thats true, nice challenge for our team, want to see kohli dominate P.S: also when IPL starts Temujin Khaghan 1
Gollum Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Very very nervous. Last time I felt this tense was during the last 3 tests of the home series against Aus. Temujin Khaghan 1
Jimmy Cliff Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Have been literally counting the days. Hope the series lives up to it. Temujin Khaghan, Mosher, sandeep and 1 other 1 3
Shunya Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Seriously, should have started the series during Christmas itself. Holidays would have been more fun. We have played so much easy cricket in recent times. Everyone is longing for some challenging series. Just start it already. Fully charged up I am. Temujin Khaghan, Gollum and sandeep 3
Temujin Khaghan Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 The only home series which can come close to an OZ, Eng, SA overseas test series is the India-Pak test series in India Alas, Pakistan is a terrorist haven, otherwise India-Pak home series also can have a crackling atmosphere
Temujin Khaghan Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 I hope this will be a Blockbuster series so that next time we can have a 4 match test series in South Africa. adi B, sergio04, Forever Indian and 1 other 4

Indo-Pak ODIs/T20s OTOH are blockbuster. SK_IH 1

I was off for last two weeks of Dec, would have been ideal. The last tour was in December when I was in holiday and was able to watch all days of the two tests.
maniac Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 The state of the pitch for the 1st test sounds promising.

Morkel, Rabada and Maharaj will be more capable of extracting something out of it. Our spinners also may not do as well as Maharaj. Remember how Moeen Ali comfortably outbowled our spinners in Eng? Shami is the only hopeful on such a pitch but given his fitness, he can be used only in short bursts.

Dry pitches are the perfect Subcontinent pitches...likes of Bhajji and Herath ran through South Africans on such surfaces. Green tracks usually make it a lottery like spin minefields in Subcontinent. It is the foreign pattas(ones with true bounce)or the once with extreme bounce which will trouble us. Mosher and Gollum 1 1

bhakum20 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 (edited) I was looking forward to the away tour after our performance against Aus, but after Ind-SL my excitement has reduced. Shami blows hot and cold and can be out of the game any second, Yadav has regressed beyond repair, and Ishant is well Ishant. BK has improved so will be watching him without any expectations. The less said about our slip catching and batting in slightly bowling conducive conditions the better. It might be our worst touring batting unit in decades. All in all not much to look forward to. Watching cryptos has been much more fun and diverted my attention from cricket. I'd loved to be proven wrong and wish the team all the best. Edited January 4, 2018 by bhakum20

By cryptos I am assuming you mean crypto currency....for me it has been depressing especially as someone who had a chance of jumping in really early. As far as this series goes if it’s a drubbing than it was something I have expected all along...any ray of hope is a super bonus. Forever Indian 1

Jaddu may also be unavailable by the looks of things
