Nobody cares about age, He is showing why he is so dependable, even if he plays just 100 tests , he is far better batsman Sachin than in all formats.

Based on count shots does Kohli plays where ball misses outside edge per innings is far more than Laxman Tendulkar Dravid Sehwag Pujara combined puts him in same category as Dhawan. Only difference is Dhawans count is in less numebr of balls faced

I meant serious discussion :phehe:

As a test batsman he has better chances of matching SRT. In ODIs if he can have 2 outstanding WCs or 1 WC triumph with him playing a starring role, he can be considered better.

Anyway yaar mujhe maaf karo, don't want to be entrapped in a long winded debate now.

Not really.

No need to play 100 tests. He has already surpassed him as mentioned in thread title.

Even if he retires now, he will be hailed as 2nd greatest batsman in test behind Bradman and greatest in ODIs.

It's obvious now.

In tests right now he won't be in top 10 and in ODIs not in top 5...I am being very generous here.

How does that matter?

SRT could never dominate like this in England in such conditions. SRT could score 400+ in a series only on flat pitches, forget about bowling friendly conditions.

ODI cricket was not developed during Viv's time.

ODI was more tilted towards bowlers during Viv's time. Ultimately it boils down to how much ahead one is ahead of his peers, applies in the case of hockey or cricket or chess.

On ebay description of few test bats on sale:

Tendulkars Bat: Used bat with edges as good as new. Overused sweet spot  with cracks and splinters.

Dravid Bat: Used bat with edges as good as new. Overused centre.

Kohlis bat: Used bat with most of it equally used some dinks on edges

Dhawans bat: Sweet spot as good as new. Dinks on edges

Sachin scored in WC KOs and also against top teams. Highest run getter in the history of WC, best performer against major teams.

Whole point of playing WC is to win those and Kohli played a crucial knock in 2011 WC. If SRT has scored in WC matches, then Kohli compensates it with those scores in finals and countless matches won single handedly.

He was the reason why we won 2013 CT.

Which finals, T20I(?) because SRT has better record in tournament finals and KO matches than Kohli, much better in fact.

ICC final.

2011 WC final - final which people actually remember.

and 2013 CT final.

Which ICC final, you can't lump T20I with ODI.

It was a good innings, no doubt but vastly overshadowed by Gambhir and then Dhoni.

Jadeja played just as well if not better, was basically a T20 anyway.
