India retain ICC Test Championship mace

Do not know about Aus being no.1, however they did square the rubber with England, so well played and major challenges lay ahead to be called undisputed numero uno.

India on the other hand was never top rank material and that NZ tour was the last nail in the coffin. That superficial tag had to go sooner than later.

NZ kicking us again in a trophy that matters.

We'll get back to top spot after the next home cycle but this side has blown numerous chances to create a legacy.

The truth is that we are not good enough to build a legacy, the batting line up outside SC is probably one of the worse ,the bowlers have carried the team for long time both home and away .

They have the talent but are way overrated !

If we had a regular home season like Eng/Aus/RSA we would have stayed at top.

When we play Rohit, Malnourished Rahane early in overseas tour that's bound to happen,we had the attack to enforce results in our favour but batsmen failed everytime,i will even include our choker kaptaan who has failed us in numerous occasions in last two years besides being choking in icc oneday tourneys, his second inning heroics are well known ,fake king

India's recent record in SENA

SA:We lost a golden oppmind ortunity in SA.  Let's face it

Eng :I think it is wishful thinking we could've won in Eng except Edgebaston test where we choked despite massive luck favouring us. Lack of genuine swing bowler hurt us. Lack of planning against S curran which was pathetic to see.

Aus: Steve Smith & Warner's absence played a big part but we would have won MCG test regardless  I think.  Mayank & Pujara rose to the occasion. Bumrah was sensational.  Aussie tracks suited his kind of bowling.

NZ: Pathetic Criminal performance displayed by both batters & bowlers.  Clean sweep was unacceptable.  Again having no genuine swing bowler hurt India badly.  We let their opening stand score too many.

This ranking is justified as NZ won an away test series in UAE & drew in SL.  While we won only one.  NZ also has a dominant home record off late.

NZ disaster was unpardonable, our worst performance since the 2011-12 nightmare. Kiwis have *ed us over big time.

Exactly, this Shastri Kohli has only one thing to boast about, that has also been snatched now. They are totally naked now, chutiya Kohli boast about how test matches are pinnacle of cricket  ODIs are not their focus after humiliation in wc  ,now what he has to say after thrown out from top position. India or any countries in the world are not undisputed no 1 but atleast aus never surrender like pussies the way we did in NZ and eng.

There is no actual #1 side these days. I won't agree aus is best till they win/draw in india against full squad.

they wont win anything here

You guys are way too critical to be called , ICF  :)
Everyone here always knew that the points system is what it is, and that should never take away Indias position in the top 3.
I still feel that India has made significant progress in the Test Arena.
Are they good enough to win in a grand slam in SENA, certainly not?

Are they trying tom improve this failure, certainly Yes!
Is Virat Kohli, still the right man to lead this team? A big Yes of course

Eng and aus do have chance when our team and players are on decline but they will have to work really hard to draw/win series.
