Over the top celebrations at winning a dead rubber Test - thoughts?

This test win has much wider reaching repercussions than the mere 1-2 series result that it led to.

India had  done very badly on the last leg of big away tours ...  this win will give them confidence  that they can beat one of the best test teams in hostile away conditions.   This series will also make our pace bowlers confident ... make them beleive that they can shoulder primary responsibility and take 20 wickets repeatedly.

I am sure that this test win and bowlers picking all 60 wickets will lead to many more overseas test wins.

This test has also established the importance of Kohli-Rahane duo in the middle order and Rahane won't be dropped from now on.

Don't forget that this SA side beat the Aussies 2-1 in their own backyard.

They have a top class and tough pace attack and this indian side went through fire and won against them in their backyard on a doctored pitch.

This was supposed to be 3-0, embarassing the indians and getting revenge! Now india had the last laugh and showed why it is the top team, despite losing the series they were competitive throughout.

A better preparation for 15 days and Rahane playing all 3 tests ... and it could have been 2-1  in place  of 1-2.

When matches are won genuinely, and not by either ball tampering or doctored pitches, every win seems sweet. If I were, like you, from a country where cheaters are celebrated as heroes, I would be laughing at Indians too!

You did claim to be "captain" at some point.  Was your name "Captain Obvious"?

Cricket fans who watched this test series know that the scoreline may be 2-1 but India's performance was much more creditable than a simple scoreline reflects.  But those who are green with envy often miss what's right in front of their big tattie nose.

Credible to you  is still  a series defeat to the all conquering all singing and dancing Indian cricket team.

Keep celebrating failure

Your jealous because I was a captain and you have never got further than fantasy cricket in your computer :aha:

Careful "Captain", your recent posts are starting to leak green.

There are no dead rubbers in test cricket numbskull, every test on its own is worth more than an odi series, winning a test match especially in such hostile conditions and on the back of our fast bowlers is something to be very proud of and deserve all the celebrations.

The context missing is India is no 1 team. And this was dead rubber. OP already said he was happy. Everyone is. He is merely asking OTT celebrations is justified or not..

I think you should be careful , you could end up looking rather foolish as one person on here knows who I am and my credentials .

With your  continual " green" comments you are showing a rather lack of world knowledge

To answer OP question, OTT celebrations are out of desperation. We don't get many  such wins. Let's just cherish it while it lasts and hope in future we actually win the series and celebrate. England series. :salute:

Save that  "Do you know who I am" card for others Tater tot.

This is a cricket discussion forum - your credibility or lack of, will be based on the content you post.  Not on who you claim to be.  If your posts start reflecting knowledge - of the world or cricket, then you won't be treated like Tatti.

Who got it right about the post you replied to on here slating Kohl for batting first , whilst most on here were slating him for doing it ?
