Reality is that India has outperformed Pakistan comfortably in test cricket in the 21st century - whether thats in Asia, or away. You can always slice and dice to get a sub-set of your liking though. Man for man, you know which team has better players, depth, skill, quality in test cricket - on either side of the ball. You can continue to seek solace in such stats. Playing a home dead rubber against SL is not the same playing a dead rubber against SA in SA where they are desperate to whitewash you in the most humiliating manner, and hence ask for the most brutal pitch possible but you still end up winning beating them at their own game. Ranking doesn't exactly reflect that. You have to be good both away and home to be a no.1 ranked team. Pakistan sucks at both places . That is why are they are bottom ranked side. Anywho just check from 2013. Last 5 years. Pakistan lost 11. India lost 9, SL lost 10. Pakistan won 4. India won 4. SL won 1. Essentially you are no better if you use this filter.

Which set of numbers is better? If you exclude Sri Lanka and BD, India still has a better win percentage than Pakistan in this millennium.
