Both Richards and Kapil Dev are significantly better hookers. David gower is a flair player. Not much of a foot work player. He just stands and creams the ball. Tendulkar's off drive is better. So is Brian Lara's. Pull shot lot of Aussies are good at it. Damien Martyn, Punter to name a few. Rahane is on his way to becoming a legendary puller alongwith Kohli. From India Dravid and Sachin. You look no further.

You can still shades of it when Dwyane bravo plays. They play this cut shot in an unique fashion. Even lesser known players does that. Generally you don't see the ball after it leaves the bat.Greenidge, was ruthless with that shot.I only saw stuart williams at chennai live. He cut one of the ball. But just disappeared. Nobody moved. It just flew off the bat. I am not sure how many has seen Sehwag live. But i am sure ball would just reach the boundary at knots speed from his bat. He had incredible bat speed. sandeep 1

I wanted to put Kohli's name in placement ability but pulled out last moment and put Lara's name instead, created a new category (strike rotation) to put the brat's name. Warne rated Sachin and Lara as his toughest adversaries, in an old documentary I saw him explaining the strengths of the 2 titans against spin. Sachin apparently is very quick to judge the length by reading the trajectory when the ball leaves the bowler's hands, this way either he is fully committed on front foot or rocks back, no half measures. This is exactly the opposite of how Rahane plays spin . According to Warne Lara was not that good in judging the length and often made mistakes but he compensated because of his ability to pierce the gaps at will no matter how bad his body balance. For other batsmen playing in the air means giving catch practice but with Lara he played in the air in between 2 fielders close to each other, he always had a mental 2D picture of the field positions and forced himself to only play in the gaps (his own words). I have experienced that feeling in Eden, one Azhar flick to square leg boundary I can assure you not a soul in Eden saw that ball after he played that shot. Lightning quick wristy flick on a lightning quick outfield.

It is that light. He hit a six over deep midwicket. It was so fluent.
