MI retained rohit, bumrah, hardik n the RTM Krunal n pollard paid very heavy

KKR paid huge for 3-4 stars, almost half the purse

M not entirely in favour of this but then its KL rahul one the best indian batsman who has long future ahead. So it was easily possible

Mumbai retained Rohit, Hardik and Vintage for 33 cr.

Krunal and Pollard were RTM for 8.8 and 5.5 cr respectively.

KKR retained Narine and Russ for 15.5 cr only (both included).

Acc to rule RCB wud have also had to pay same, under the table deals are diff

yes a player has a right to reject it. But why wud rahul do that

  • he gets to play with captain, chances to win his trust
  • chinnaswamy best place for any batsman
  • his own home

No other franchise wud have let Rahul go, he is worth the money and he is showing it

Letting Rahul go was blunder. There is no debate about that.

There’s no point discussing Rahul’s retention. Kohli makes choice and he’ll pay for it. At some point earlier, Rahul must’ve riled up the egoistic captain, and was discarded in IPL and in ODIs.

I had had high hopes from Kohli ( being a Delhi boy, I thought he’ll over all this player politics). But he’s now a toxic combination of Dhoni Type Petty Politics and Bollywood...

I hate when someone uses the word politics, thats just being blind and looking at white n black

how hard is it to understand that someone can hard time identifying right players.

Everyone has a gut but then ur brain often says choose safety, so kohli chooses safety in senior players

No captain likes to loose , specially someone like kohli. He just cant look beyond the word talent and their are many many more factors beyond it. Every captain will have a set of player whom he ll trust more

Ganguly has backed bad player and so has dhoni, now kohli and every captain from now ill n m sure captain have done that in past

A few days naseer hussain tweeted rohit sharma shud be backed in test

He is one of best analyst in commies , ian chappel backs rohit in test but when kohli do its politics

No it isnt, he looks at different aspect n we at different

How hard is it to understand that 2 people cant think alike

Say kohli the captain makes foolish mistakes while selection dnt use word politics, ur insulting his desire to win which is more then i have seen in many player over the years.

IPL 2018: Chris Gayle and KL Rahul’s Form for KXIP Has Rubbed Salt into RCB’s Wounds

The performances of Rahul and Karun Nair with Punjab and Krishnappa Gowtham and Shreyas Gopal with Rajasthan have caused considerable heartburn in Bangalore, where the squad has no local presence to speak of. Of course, for practical purposes, it could be argued that Kohli, in his 11th season with RCB, and AB de Villiers, into his eighth, are as local as the IPL gets, in the same way that Gautam Gambhir was once one of Kolkata’s favourite sons.

But when you see names like Sarfaraz, Pawan Negi and Murugan Ashwin in the squad, it does make you wonder why players with a far greater knowledge of the Bangalore conditions weren’t considered a priority at the auction. Bangalore continue to place a premium on overseas talent, while the teams that have won the competition invest far more wisely in the best Indian talent, both of the established and upcoming variety.

RCB bowling attack was said to be the worst bowling attack of all teams after the sqaud was selected in auctions. No wonder they have lived to that reputation.  Below average performance this. Not even one consistent standout performance bowler there. in this IPL

Only Woakes managed to take more than one wicket per match, but he was as well tonked by opposition.

RCB need to be change the bowling attack.

if you play half the games at Chinnaswamy, last season being exception, most bowlers will have similar stats.

They also reached finals of champions league if I remember it right.. Seems RKT has some issue with Kumble

i dont have any issue with Kumble.  They reached final even with Kohli in 2016 and in 2011 under Vettori.  Looks like people forgot how RCB was mocked being test team in 2008. That was the worse T20 team ever picked.

We are talking about the team under Kumble..

Whatever personnel you get in. Virat Kohli as captain is going to make sure that their output is below par and they will still continue to mess up.

Cant understand why are people advocating all the changes and stuff and not just getting rid of Virat. At the least, its only fair to try and sack him and see how other players react to it.

500 odd runs, poster boy , brand value and bad captaincy. Worth 17 cr?

Poster boy image won't win IPL, neither will brand value. Don't think his 500 odd runs and bad captaincy will be worth the investment.

Russell and Narine were retained for 15.5 cr and they have scored 433 runs and taken 13 wickets so far. Compare it to Virat's 280 runs so far. What KKR done is value picks. they get more runs and more wickets in same money. What RCB have done is overspending. Moreover, RCB get 2 top class T20 players in same amount. So they are covering for injury as well in same amount.

under kohli in 2015 it was pretty much kohli n somewhat ABDv show

Under vettori it was a gayle show

Under kumble - it was a team effort and he managed his resources really well, so he deserves credit for that

2008 team was selected under dravid, why say they were worse under kumble. Kumble got the team from pietersen 2nd season .

RCB was worse under dravid and mocked as test team under dravid only

I agree with most of what you say.

But something needs to be tried by RCB management. They are letting it go, fans are flocking the stadium and fansites in hoardes. Virat Kohli has mastered the art of pampering to media and with managed PR, he will give some dialogues like SRK and fans will do aww ooo for him, one man army, will continue to diss all other 20 players. lol

They have to sack him and see how things pan out - atleast try it for few games, if they continue with status quo they are just making a fool out of fans.

Sacking him for few matches won't help. He is RCB top run scorer. Might lose motivation and affect his performance. Yes, RCB are doing badly , but one more bad match and it will be over. Has to be sacked from captaincy because he has been poor, but then no point keeping Virat only as batsman henceforth in team.

RCB are badly stuck with him now. RCB either have to  keep him as a captain or let him go. Otherwise there will be more problems imo if he just remains as batsman in team.
