Just because SRT and Kapil overstayed doesn't mean we have to keep repeating the mistakes. What those 2 did was wrong and selfish, at least now let us set a precedent for the future. Sachin overstayed for around 10 months in ODI and 18 months in tests. I will always give a player of that level 6 months leverage, only after that can the overstaying timer be set on.  

Just talking about T20 here, was Dhoni ever a good enough player in this format? He never figured out how to play international T20s and yet has been playing for a decade without trying out some other keeper. Did he deserve to represent India after 2010 WT20? What are his credentials in WT20? How many matches has he singlehandedly lost? How many 50s? How many MOMs? Even if you give him leverage of 2 years (because we play very few international T20s) shouldn't he at least have retired after the 2012 WT20 edition?

This is getting true for Dhoni day by day. Nobody has problem with him being in ODI squad but he atleast should not occupy a slot in t20i which will give no benefits for Future of Team India.
