FischerTal
it is pretty annoying to me. one, it takes away views from the actual people who make the video, which is an insult to the content creator who want to increase the views on their original video and get more subscriptions. plus, i see it as a way people seek validation from others for whether that content is good enough, especially desis with an inferiority complex who need approval from foreigners for a particular movie or tv show. your opinion? riya, velu, randomGuy and 1 other 1 1

Scar
I beg to differ, * It increases the visibility of the channels and their content. For ex, after watching réactions of 'what the folks' I came to know about how awesome dice media channel is. * It gives another dimension to the content, well I don't watch many reaction videos but someone like Jaby koay is smart, his take on content is really singular, mainly non-judgmental and from a production POV which I enjoy. * It's more fun to watch web-series along with reaction gangs. I enjoyed TVF tripling much more in reaction video of Jaby's than when I watched it originally. Edited June 25, 2018 by Scar
Stradlater
Only the people with huge inferiority issues would prefer to watch these videos. And we all know Indians top the list. FischerTal, Gollum, zen and 6 others 1
surajmal
Not a new trend. TVF chewtiyas even started appearing on some mexican lodu's videos. I was like, have some self respect; you people are creating original content and that lodu isn't even white so what's with seeking approval?! I'm sure that was a contributing factor in me losing interest. Slavery is genetic, that's my conclusion from all this. Tibarn
I am not a fan of reaction videos either, but what I find weirder is people watching videos of other people cooking something and then eating it on video. It's a big thing in South Korea. Gollum

I enjoyed TVF tripling much more in reaction video of Jaby's than when I watched it originally. How does it increase visibility? Basically only those who are aware of a certain show would watch a 'reaction' video. People do not watch reaction videos to shows and then watch shows. These aren't trailers/teasers. A cursory glance at the reactions to the reaction video posted by the OP shows that most of the comments are by Indians!!! An American person reviews Bollywood movies , not particularly well, and his reviews are lapped up by Indians in India. I don't see too many American whites/blacks/etc commenting on his stuff. His TG is basically Indians in India. Tells you that the need for validation by the gora exists, if not overtly, at a subconscious level surely. I have seen instances of these even when absolutely no name Australian and NZ cricketers tweet praise about Indian players/ Indian culture etc and get a gazillion retweets. Like it or not, we as a society, have a parvenu inferiority complex. Gollum, FischerTal, riya and 1 other
coffee_rules
had watched couple of whites reacying to a Telugu movie fight scene, was mildly funny, but a boring trend . YouTubers content is sometimes brilliant and sometimes caters to LCD among people. That's what happens if you don't have a regulatory board making them or people should self regulate and not like them. I love watching a cooking show , some are about cooking in a frozen place in remote places, it's very primal. Try watching Gold Digger videos. It is about a girl rejecting a man's approach thinking he was average. Later, it turns out that he is rich or has a fancy car, she goes back to him. The man rejects her for being a gold digger. Absolutely pathetic , but people are watching them in every language. People with broadband connections with lots of free time are making them and others with same are watching them too.
