Does this test series has 2011 written all over it?

they are but atleast he isnt that clueless on ground as dhoni was in test cricket

N biggest clueless selection rohit isnt selected .....so i expect them in less numbers

if anything he is a little too proactive on the field in test cricket,it works at times sure but as long as he keeps messing team selections he won't get my vote as a good captain, the first quality you need to be a captain is to know how to make a team, which he unfortunately till now has shown no signs of doing.

Too much negative comments here ,kohli might be poor as a captain in team selections but on field ,in tests ,he has an aura of not giving up and you can sense something's gonna work .kohli is a pretty shrewd on field captain and works his bowlers ,field setting well .we ain't gonna see much 400+ scores from England,be assured

Plus ill add his energy n never say die attitude on field is gr8 to see in test cricket post dhoni's going with the motion display in test . Test cricket gives u time to comeback from ur mistakes which he does......

Last series we had Vijay, Rahane, Bhuvi and Dhoni doing well and still got humiliated after dominating first 2 tests.

This time:

Vijay - looks out of form and age is catching up with him.

Dhawan - We will be lucky if he manages 1 big score.

Pujara - couldn't buy a run whole county season. Won't be surprised if another 20 avg "see-the-new-ball" useless innings are common for him.

Kohli - only inform batsman. Then we have to see how he manages moving balls here. Will do well this time.

Rahane - Expecting couple of good scores from him.

Panday - hit and miss. Weakest link of the team. Ideally not needed for test team in England.

Rahul - Won't play

Bhuvi - injured

Shami - Still recovering. Will take 2-3 tests to return back to rhythm.

Bumrah - recovering

Ishant and Umesh - Only bowlers expected to bowl at full throttle right from start. Pray they come good somehow.

Kuldeep/Ashwin - Bonus performances/crucial role.

Pant/Karthik - Unknown materials. Karthik is known for 20s and 30s.

So only 2-3 reliable performers and rest all look uncertain.

very negative outlook.

all this gloom because we lost 2 ODI games ? cheer up man. stop spreading negativity - you will get just that  if you do.

trust in the team to deliver, its just England..

Our pace bowling cannot match their Pacers. Anderson and Broad are two top class proven bowlers. Having said that our pace bowling attack is much  better than it was ever in past, and we could see how nicely the pacers bowled against Saffers. Their spinners cannot match our spinners. We have the best spinners amongst all teams.

Batting wise their batting is more  suited to their home conditions. Like SA, we are dependent on Virat yet again. But even he could not change the scoreline in SA although he did his part with the bat. In tests it will need more performances from many players rather than just one or two players.

As far as this series is concerned they have a superior team on paper for these conditions.

Somehow, we need a test win after failing in SA. Another overseas series loss won't help. It will be wonderful to see team finally win test series in SA, English or Australia.

The selection bias and blunders have to stop.

Arguably our 2 best pacers Bhuvi and Bumrah aren't available.

Bhuvi was wonderful last series there iirc. Think he scored 3 * 50's as well in that test series. Didn't he. His runs will be missed as well in that case apart from the swing in those conditions.

Bumrah's pace will be a miss as well.

The think tank has gone for experienced pacers Shami, Umesh and Ishant who have played lot of cricket.

Shardul seems to be backup and will get only in 2nd test unless one of the experienced trio gets injured for first test.

Fresh or young talent have been ignored by Virat, Shastri and selectors.

Rishabh Pant has been selected.
He is fresh out of the oven.
