5. idiotic management who persevered with Pandya who hasn't shown consistency yet (I won't blame Pandya here but those who are expecting him to do things he has never even done in domestics - he averages 28 in first class for God's sake....how is he expected to fulfill the role of a batsman in England....it's too soon).

 

The whole team management needs to change.

 

Kohli should be captain but his powers should be clipped.

 

We need a no nonsense coach.

Totally! This gutless team has failed miserably to play in a manner befitting its #1 status. Are we supposed to be happy about the one win while turning a blind eye to their abject surrender in the series?No way! They went awol whenever they were required to fight and get over the finish line.

Gotta agree with this assessment. Bowlers were indeed brilliant and clearly out-performed the batting department which has flopped apart from consistent contributions from Virat and the odd ton by Chet. Shastri and think tank has failed to walk the talk. Instead of thrashing the opponents they themselves have been thrashed and weak batting lineup has been exposed brutally yet again.The big mouth could only make the noise pre series. Post series the mouth will be totally shut...until we smash the West Indies...

Let’s look at our side. Bumrah, Pant, Rahul. It has inexperienced players.

Rahul has played 28 tests including 5 away tours.  That is not inexperience in tests.

 

Bumrah has performed like a very experienced pacer despite playing his 4th and 5th tests.

 

Top 5 batsmen and 3 bowlers...  all very experienced.

Inexperience did not show for Bumrah.

 

So, just 2 inexperienced players performing as such ...  which is common.

One thing is that 4 fasties are a must for overseas.That and someone like viru who can turn his arm should comprise the bowling attack.

To be fair we were outplayed in Lords and then outplayed them in Nottingham. Rest 2 tests were close fought and we should have won them if we had got toss in our favour.

So it isn't our worst performance overseas.

I admire your positivity, but nothing much to take from this series...They didn't play as a team..played like 11 random players put together. With a bit of resolve and application they could've come home with a series win. Needless to say about the BCCI and the management.

being harsh on openers. They did better than England openers.  Openers will never be game changers in these condition.  This has been a historic series comprising low scores in every game.  barring England's 390 odd when we just played 2 specialist seamers.

TBH, it is one of our best overseas performance in this decade.

We used to be batting Powerhouse. Bowling was our weak link.

I expected, Chepu,Kohli and Rahane to score runs. I also thought Rahul would solve atleast 1 conundrum of oepning slot. 

So No, I am not proud of any of the 4. Together, They fared below the expectations.

I expected 2 innings from Pandya, Have seen only one so far.

Pant is stocky kid. It will take 1-2 years for him to loose some weight and not hit the ball in air. I would rather ask him to open the inning with Rahul for last match.

 

Rest all batted the way I expected them, i.e. Walking wickets.

 

Bowling wise. Absolutely proud because we didnt restricted England around 250 allmost all the time. Every bowler is a Hero.

When England went in a game with 4 pacers. We played 2 spinners.

When England went in with 2 spinners, We went in with 1 injured spinner.

Saw him while he was walking in front of me at Trent Bridge. Not bragging. Similar height as me, Less fit than me. I have more muscle mass even though i am atleast 20+ year older than him and a stone lighter than him.

And I keep fit, just to ensure that I am not hampering my third grade domestic league team chances in crunch games. He should know that he is representing India and what is least expected of him
