India needs to find pace bowling all-rounder

Looking at the match one can clearly see India is clearly missing a fast bowler or a fast bowling all-rounder rather as pandya is injured, I seriously feel, if we want to grow as a  well rounded side we need a fast bowling all-rounder and by that I mean some one who can give us 8-2. Overs in consistent basis plus he can score consistently at fair clips

We also need to realize when to use pace bowlers and not just keeping them in the team. Just look at now, we were bowling spinners when Sarfaraz and Malik were finding it easy. They could have easily got Bumrah in the middle to get the wicket or put pressure but they chose to save his overs for the end. At least should have tried him around the 30th over mark, but no, Captain Rohit had made his mind to use Bumrah from 42nd over so he can just bowl at the death.

 

This isn’t t20 and Mumbai indians team where pacers can be kept for the end. 50 overs is different and you got to keep changing your bowlers up.

when we don’t have players such as Pandya, we play likes of Binny. And when we get players such as Pandya, many of us abuse them unnecessarily

The point is now pandya is injured, and we don't know what exactly is the nature of his injury, we don't know how much impact that injury might have on his bowling.

Unfortunately, there is no like for like replacement as we have players who can bowl better but not bat as good as Pandya, and vice versa 

 

Krunal can be played as an AR, w/ Ind playing 3 pacers and 1 spinner. When Hardik returns, it would further strengthen both the batting and the 5th-6th bowling

We have tried  5 or 6 batsmen at no.4 in the last year ...  too many and not needed

 

But not thought of the situation if Pandya gets injured.  Who will be the 5th bowler and big hitter in England   ?

See the point is you need to find and groom players with ability identify them and groom them I am sure we might find players in domestics and u19.or send the scouts and tell them to keep eye on local tournaments.

Abusing Pandya is unnecessary but you can't blame people for criticising him even if he is the only option we have. He needs to get a kick on him bum to keep him working hard for his place in team. Especially since he is one of those showpony guy who can easily get carried away in other stuffs. He shouldn't take his place in the team forgranted. I am certainly not happy with the progress he has made so far even being backed thoroughly by kohli. Need to work harder and learn to finish games taking more responsibility.

that he takes his place for granted is an assumption on your part .... may be you have unnecessarily high expectations from a youngster

You and some agenda driven folks back Pandya. India needs a proper 5th bowler. Pandya was the safety vent and he had the worst average when he bowled against Pakistan.

I don’t get the hate for Pandya. From whatever I’ve seen he puts a lot of effort at least in his bowling and we need to be more patient with him. He’s the best bowling AR we have
