Looking at the pacers chosen for this game ...   al 4 pacers (  Avesh, Prasidh, Porel and Thampi )  have either pace or height and bounce or both.   And all are thought to be good prospects.

After trying Siraj, Saini and Rajpoot in 3 A-team series this year ...  it makes a lot of sense to try the next in line quicks with pace and bounce.

The selectors are showing a lot of vision here.  And choice of batters are good too. All the more reason why the poor national team selections look like influences by the Team management.

It’s Kohli and Dhoni running the show.

Virat Kohli wants TTFs & Has-Beens in the team because of their so called “experience” whereas Dhoni wants his CSK teammates because they won him the IPL trophy so he thinks they can win the World Cup as well.

Could be reverse.. Another shami in the making

I said this because Avesh had a habit of bowling a bit too short and the ball would miss the stumps.  If he is hitting the stumps regularly then that is a big progress for him.

Moreover,  2 of those 4 wickets were very early in the innings when the ball does not reverse.

Shami is around 5'9" and hitting the stumps comes naturally to him.  Avesh is a 6'2" pacer and his bowling style and trajectory of the ball is totally different. He will do well outside Asia if he is accurate as he has natural bounce and the balls would carry easily to slips if nicked.
