Rohit sharma is good addition as he can play both middle order and opener and his technique is suited to aus pitches.

We will actually be compromising on team balance if we play a proper bowler in place of Pandya.

Have you watched any last 2 series ?? It's not bowler who lost but Batters who can't even score 193,209,270. Bowler did pretty well but bastmen who don't do Thier job.

No. Pandya is not a quality Test all-rounder to afford a place with in the team.

Why Rohit instead of Nair or even Agarwal?

 

Why Pappu? Any other young wicketkeeper Samson, Kishan etc would have been future looking.

 

Siraj should have been drafted in the Test squad, particularly an overseas one with pace and bounce.

Those were bowling pitches. Several times they let England of the hook After 6-7 down for nothing. Especially shami who averaged 40 in the series.

But India's weakness has always been a bowling and bowlers win Test matches. Since we don't have a good Test all-rounder, the bowling all-rounders like Kumar, Jadeja and Ashwin is all we can afford as of now.

Pandya is gonna be a big miss ,it's imperative to have that 5th bowler as a filler ,now I think kohli and co will play only 4 bowlers (just like  oval) out of which 1 will be a spinner who'll be useless anyways .

So basically it'll be the 3 pacers who will have to carry out huge workload especially on those pattas in the heat
