That was most pathetic thing about 2012 series.

 

We won first test at Amhedabad on a slow turner which suited our batsmen while giving bit edge to our spinners.

 

But ego of our captain led him criticize the pitch and ask for rank turner, with 0 idea of batting and bowling abilities.

 

Once we lost the series, they went back to dead track at Nagpur where nothing happened at all.

 

So much for being man manager, and super strategist.

Didn't they loose overseas tour badly as well? Ashes 2013, 2017 both with no wins. India tour of 2016-17. Even at home they have lost few matches.

Yes , remember it quite well,but it was more about Peiterson's epic century,he imposed his authority in that mine field,never seen any non sc batsman dominate Indian spinners in India

In the same decade they have lost home series against SA,SL,Series draw with Pakistan(twice),NZ and and lost a test match against WI.

 

Having said that,their batters try to apply themselves touring away specially in subcontinent even though they have limited ability to play against spin and know how to grind in these conditions. And their selector don't waste the domestic talents and reward them place in squad very early like they have done with Hameed,Burns.

It's easier for batsmen to make adjustments from seam and swing and bouncy pitches to low and slow pitches. That is why aus, SA, England have won more series in SC than sc teams in SENA.

As fans anyone can accept losing if they have ability to win series. England are repeating rewards for making their team bat deep.

They have been the best traveling team and kudos to them.

Their batting is still very shaky ,it's their competent tail and lower order batsmen who are saving their @rse ,still they seem to have a good team balance in tests
