Not playing tests to prevent getting exposed

Just a bit curious if players all round the world stop playing tests to prevent getting exposed when their batting or bowling prowess wane? 

 

Dhoni batting has been in absolute shambles over the last 18 months . Doubt he would have retained his place across all formats if he did not retire from tests in 2014.

 

 

Though he has played well in IPL , I think IPL standards were also a bit low initially with at least 2 ordinary bowlers per side due to the team composition mix.

 

So coming to present , KL Rahul is exposed so much in tests and DK got a much shorter rope due to the 2 tests .If I am a batsman I would not play in tests unless my confidence and form is sky high. 

 

Leave apart Kohli no batsman is a certainty in tests... Pujara, rahane are also failing sans few success here and there .. Repeated failures tend to cloud batsmen mind  and they start failing in other formats.  and pitches today in tests are minefields . So if bowlers are fillers in t20, same goes with batsmen in tests..fodder material

 

Dhoni probably realized this well in advance and limited his probability of getting exposed . Kohli is the exception here.. even Rohit failed . 

 

Dhoni is still the best wicket keeper in the country but as a finisher he is done. Hope he hangs up his boots.  And without playing active cricket how can he play his shots as a finisher. 

 

KL and Pant will be unfairly judged based on the current test series . So whoever does not play these tests it's advantage for them.

Exposure Probability increased big time now due to exposed middle order , else could have middled his way through has been knocks.. 

 

Looking at the Instagram posts , and all posts talking about his experience, dhoni review system , stumping milliseconds and relentless PR, I have got nauseated as a fan. Something does not feel right .. it looks like some agenda.. the person behind the public mask is appearing as something different..

No Dhoni supporter but for god's sake he retired after playing 90 tests over 10 years and with better Test batting-keeping record than any other keeper in our history. It is highly unlikely that any other modern day test keeper will go onto play 90 tests.

Question is why he is sticked to loi inspire of failing consistently l, now plz don't give captaincy assistance,and grooming youngsters blah blah. If he left test he should have left loi as well.

What is the average of contemporaries of Dhoni across the top 6 test playing nations?  Gilchrist,McCullum, Haddin, Boucher, Matt Prior  etc.. would like to know how they fared compared to MSD

Yaar Dhoni is failing because he is old.

 

It can be hard for these young players to work in 3 formats, it is better to carry on with just 1 or 2 for youngsters I think.

Any young batsman should be left to play only 1 format (loi or test). Shouldn't be brought in other unless he gets 7-8 centuries spread in all conditions.

This is where we did right with kohli, his confidence never dipped by initial failures in test bcz he knew I have conquered these bowlers in odis before.

KL mindset is messed up by playing 3 formats and being in & out. He is confused should I develop myself for WC squad or test cricket.

Hopefully Shaw is protected from this.
