Since the advent of Islamic aggression, the kings from Rajputs, Vijayanagara, Shivaji and Marathas have fought for Hindutva. It is not 100 years old, but whenever the Dharma has been in danger, a form of Dharma always fight back and that is Hindutva - to take pride in sanatan dharma.
