They will reach Semis for sure. They have thrashed SA 5-1, won Asia Cup and beaten Kiwis 4-1 in their home just now, all in last 15 months.

 

Do not base your judgments from the last 4 T20s, we have experimented quite a lot in these T20s and never played our our full strength team

Selectors have wasted so many opportunities to groom younsters but they went with old washed out players and here are the consequences
It was coming,Dhawan is not bound to succeed in all icc tournaments,there has to be one failure and this might be the one,Kohli too going through a rough patch
These three are the only ones who atleast give us run a ball scores but now all will be left to the likes of Rayudu,dhoni,jadhav ,one can imagine what kind of score we'll end up with on those flat beds
Bowling wont rescue us everytime
So ,the slide has started just at the right time(sadly)

Kohli doesn't seem to be going through any rough patch. He seems to intentionally play those risky shots to get out sooner than he would and let middle order have more time in the middle.

The WC in Eng, could be a repeat of our test performance in Eng (first test for e.g.) where we had a similar team make up (among experienced players): 

 

Test openers: Murali + Dhawan

ODI openers: Tuktuk Sharma + Dhawan 

 

Test: KL Rahul

ODIs: the random guy at #4 - Rayudu, .... 

 

Tests: Rahane:

ODI: the random guy at #5 (DK, ....) 

 

Test WK: DK

ODI WK: Dhoni
