chewy Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 The biggest democratic process in global history...roll it on beetle 1
Gollum Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Look at the state of Bengal, roughly as populated as TN but will go to polls in 7 phases compared to 1 of the latter. Political violence in Bengal is more than Kashmir and red belt areas, hope <100 people die this time around. 1000s of bomb factories in the state precisely for this reason, will be a lot of fireworks the coming months. Hope all Bengal based ICFers and their families stay safe. DHONI_FANN, Stradlater and beetle 3
randomGuy Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Opinion polls giving 264-285 to NDA today. Prefer 300+ to have a solid 5 yrs.
randomGuy Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 In Bangal, bjp vs TMC projected voteshare: 35 vs 41%.. .. good progress.... wish for one more leg up n BJP becoming no. 1 in this least expected state.
randomGuy Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 How many seats is NDA expected to get in 5 south States of Kar, TN , Kerala, AP, Telangana? Any guesses @velu , others? Abp gives arnd 21 total, India TV arnd 30...
Tibarn Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Going by MP, RJ, CG, and the Mahaghatbandhan in UP, I think BJP's performance is being overestimated. If morons can vote out quality CMs like Chouhan, who was at the helm of turning MP into a growth-basket of India, then they can vote out Modi easily, especially since the BJP vs INC playing field is slowly shrinking.

Yet, the problem for BJP they have to be at least 50% votes to win any seat. So wherever seat, BJP has chances, there is gonna be consolidation of votes on religion and communal reasons for the opponent candidate, and thus BJP needs counter-consolidation to win such seats. And the number is 50% above....

Malda, Murshidabad, Uttar Dinajpur are heavily Muslim dominated...50-70%, gone case. In 5-6 districts like South/North Parganas, Birbhum, Nadia, Howrah, Midnapore etc they are 25-40%. Remaining 8-9 districts they are less...8-20%. Problem is places where Muslims are in highest numbers are heavily populated, so more constituencies I guess. Bengal is FUKCED. randomGuy 1
Gollum Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 BTW there is already a sticky thread to cover the elections...this should be merged with the original one. Admins?
