In Root and Butler, England had two centurions yet lost the match whereas Pakistan had none. Where did they go wrong?

Morgan and Stokes 22 (9+13) off 36 (18+18) at a sr of 61

Sloppy Fielders gave around 18 extra runs.

Roy's drop of Hafeez proved costly. He said he was staring into the sun.But that cost them 70 runs.

Barring Root & Buttler,other batsmen failed,especially Morgan & Stokes.

Rashid going for runs.Still Morgan should have bowled him in the death. He gets wickets when batsman attack him.

They should have played Tom Curran. He is a better hitter.

If & buts don't mean much in the end of the day.

Eng,India,SA have similar bowling problems. All their pacers are right handed.

They went wrong when they gave 348 runs to this team lol Actually Root was lucky even to play that long.

Exactly.  If you let average teams put up par+ scores, you can't always assume that the batting is never going to fall short.

There problem lies in their bowling. This 2 batsmen batting line up was scoring 350 against England for fun last month. Something seriously wrong.

Their start was also poor, should've scored 70/80 up front. People obviously don't realize how hard it is to chase 300+ in a WC

English bowling 'attack' consists of trundlers and darters. This will come back to bite them in the behind as the tournament goes on.

When Pakistan of all teams is scoring 350s for fun against you, there is a serious problem. It doesn't matter how flat the pitch is, no half decent bowling attack should let Pakistan score 350+ against them consistently.

They were boasting yesterday that this was first losing while chasing since 2015, but if you closely look the highest total they chased before Pakistan series was 314. They have dynamic lineup but I feel they should bat first.Chasing in big matches is always dangerous if you don't have great bowling attack.
