express bowling Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 1. Forgetting every other factor like Shami's extra pace .... Shami of 2019 is a better ODI bowler than Bhuvi of 2019 If it were 2017, I would have preferred Bhuvi over Shami in ODIs. 2. Most of the SA batters of the late 2010s are not that good against extra pace or extra bounce. We saw that when we toured SA in 2018. Every time Bumrah or Shami got extra bounce at good pace ... they struggled or got out. Even today, the SA batters were troubled quite a bit by extra bounce. Mosher 1
vishalvirsingh Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Hardik and kuldeep underperformed today . Hardik and Kedar together can be our fifth bowler. Play 3 Pacers and chahal Kuldeep should be dropped in match.and shammi plays

That's highly debatable, with his knuckle balls he doesn't auto magically become a good bowler at death. Heck due to his lack of pace & not bowling yorkers he's barely better than Pandya! R!TTER Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 (edited) What logic? Pandya is a lower order hitter, Virat is a top order bat who's also the no.1 ranked player. Rankings aside he's still better than Pandya against pace, BK is at best a green deck bowler - heck this is the reason why he's dropped on many occasions even outside India (in tests) when the wickets were flat. Trichromatic Posted June 9, 2019 Author Posted June 9, 2019 Bhuvi doesn't pick wickets for India, it's time that Shami is brought in. Can't have 2-3 weak links.

G_B_ Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 I think Bhuvi has shown his critics just how critical he can be to the Indian team Was very good during the 2013 champions trophy as well.
Vijy Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Bhuvi should be there, but I would suggest dropping Kuldeep for Shami. We lose a bit in batting and fielding, but gain more in bowling. If we need another spinner, Jadeja for Jadhav can be done.

But need Shami in for a spinner hopefully this can be done against asian sides.

I feel we need Kuldeep to get back into form, when he is taking wickets we are unstoppable.
R!TTER Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Better try the changes against chuckers, Shami isn't necessary against NZ & if the wickets stay like this we will need 2 spinners in the second half!
Cricketics Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Against New Zealand I would play Kuldeep bur against Pakistan I would play Shami. Kuldeep did bot bowl bad five overs. He did not let Smith and Warner attack him barrinf dew short balls. He will be good to habe against Nz middle order. Pak plays spin a bit better so we can have Shami for that but do play Kuldeep against NZ
Straight Drive Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 It's good that Bhuvneshwar Kumar is not taking his place for granted. Wonderful over which turned the match with two wickets in an over. Lucky to have Shami as an alternative as well. The pace bowling strength along with options on bench is looking awesome.
