Didn't get single game in ct 2017 as well. I am sure he will get few games in this wc but i highly doubt he will play more than 2 or 3 matches in this worldcup unless someone gets injured.

Why do you say that? We all know what happened when Brat picked the same 3 pacers in CT final, we need pace in England & on recent form Shami>>BK especially given BK's awful record against top 4 or 5 sides. BK would be the first pick on green seamers like the last match Afg vs SL but otherwise he's useless IMO, trying to contain the opposition again (ala CT 2017) is a recipe for disaster & no Pandya isn't in the same league as regular 3rd seamers!

Big reason is bhuvi can bat and with two wrist spinners in side you will always need pacer who can bat so bhuvi > shami there. They can't play jaddu cause you are already playing 2 wrist spinners so that's reason i feel bhuvi will play most matches even if he has avg worldcup cause spinners & bumrah will have most workload.

Bit of extra pace and bounce won't bother SA as much as movement.  Better to have more spinners, and go with the pacer that can move it both ways.  If it was Pakistan/SL/Bang etc, I wouldn't be surprised to see Shami in the team as a 3rd pacer, or even 2nd.

Of course logic doesn't matter for pimply kids who care more about speed-guns than actual results.

Its not only about pace or bounce, shami is way more skilfull then bhuvi and he can do more with the ball then bhuvi .......shami has been in outstanding form this yr and bhuvi has not been at his best post his back injury

No way on earth bhuvi shud play ahead of shami unless he has an injury

Actually its not good to talk about results in case of Bhuvi and Shami as going by their career bowling record Shami is in a different league compared to Bhuvi.

IMO Bhuvi is in the team more so beacuse of his batting as playing Shami makes our tail very long. Can't think of any other reason.

Yeah, entire team management must be smoking ganja to prefer Bhuvi over Shami then.  Surely you know it better than them.  Numbers and records are not the same thing as performances.

I think you are the one smoking ganja if you think that every decision taken by team management is correct, particularlyby Virat. There are many instances where they selected the wrong player. Heck India played with two spinners in 2nd test match at Lords in those conditions. Must have been a correct decision right?

So care to tell me what performances of Bhuvi makes him a better bowler than Shami?? Now don't run away.

don't number and records come by performances?

Shami is not as dependable as Bhuvi.  Especially at the death, in a highscoring game in flat conditions.  He's a gamble.  And especially against a team that is unruffled by bit of extra pace and bounce.  Yes, a Shami bowling in top rhythm, is threatening to any and all batsmen - but he's inconsistent.  Arguably Bhuvi complements Bumrah better at the other end, while Shami is stylistically a similar bowler to Bumrah.  As a captain, you want variety in your bowlers, all other things being equal.  'sameness' in a new ball pair can be costly.

Now I'm not saying Shami's not a quality bowler.  He is.  But Bhuvi, after increasing his pace, is a really valuable bowler in white ball cricket.  I know his statistical record doesn't quite reflect that, but I suggest that you take a closer look at his bowling - and make a dispassionate effort to filter out your confirmation bias.  Look at his bowling today.  He has zero wickets to show for it, but he bowled quite well.  On another day, he could have taken a couple of wickets bowling worse.
