straighttalk Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Teams will not bowl in his zone. So he has to invent new ways to score
jf1gp_1 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 After 40th over when 5 fielders were allowed outside circle pandya scored 16 in 17 balls he faced.
vvvslaxman Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 He is not able to time any slower ball. I think him standing deep in the crease means slower comes much slower to him. He should be prepared to walk down the wicket like DK does against slower ball. He has to think on his feet. He has to force the bowler to bowl in his comfort zone. You cannot camp on backfoot for every ball. You gotta outsmart the bowler YOu cannot allow them to get away with series of slower ball. They bowled 6 slower balls and got away against Pandya. Scar Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 What has happened to his stance lately? His front foot face long on and his whole stance is based on expecting a lenght/ full delivery on middle to leg stump. That's such a hackish way to bat, he doesn't realise but it's detrimental to his game as he gives the bowler a clear idea where to bowl him instead of keeping the bowler guessing. That's like revealing all your card, and expect others to be dumb enough to fall for that.

It was not about 5 fielder it was that pitch was became slow and he started struggling with timing . If u look all his shot in that phase he was mistiming it. Team is leaving to much for him in a lil time which result in him going even harder and that affects the timing

When you a bowler can bowl 150 kph, it is very difficult to premeditate on slower balls.
WeStMiDz Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Said it before, he should bat at 4 regardless of the match situation. He can construct proper innings' and will have the luxury of facing more overs of spin. All the more reason to do it if we have Pant and DK down the order. Our firepower is not compromised. He's currently our third best batsman so don't be fooled by numbers or techniques.
chewy Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Give the guy a break, has the best strike in this WC for anyone averaging 30 plus, outbowled Stokes, should have had Roy out, never gets to face spinners since he comes in slog overs Even yesterday, he found boundaries when batting with Pant, and got bogged down by the joker Dhoni, Dhoni put all pressure on Pandya to take risks People compare him Stokes, but forget Stokes plays no.5, comes in.normally around 30th over, gets to bat with Butler, Woakes, Ali...Pandya has Jadav and Dhoni, philcric, sandeep, ViruDilSeKhelo and 1 other 1 3

sage Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Guy was doing fine until Dhoni came in and whispered advice in his ear philcric 1
Crookbond Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 There were two phases of Pandya's innings Phase 1 : 22(12b) Phase 2 : 23(20b)
nitinbwj Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Pandya is alright. He can bludgeon the spinners and take on fast bowling. He needed support but did not get any.He might not be getting a lot of wickets but he bowls intelligently and has decent economy.Without him,we would have never won the Aus game.
