team behind modi is super smart .. taken horses for courses approach..

recent move by modi is the right way to counter DMK & co ..  it's making them really uncomfortable I guess

Great gesture to have his buddy EPS receive Xi. Also the welcome was amazing, so many people turned up, so much heart put into prep by the locals and TN police,  DMK must be burning LOL.

Actually, none in this case. I correct myself, iI don't think it was appeasement as he has been seen in different attires. It would have confused the paxtanis who were trending goBackModi.

opposition has a role in democracy. learn to accept it.

again how is this relevant ?  there are scores of very normal everyday people in TN that appreciate Modi's messaging , your post is irrelevant what makes Stalin representative of all TN people ? before his dad dies he was nothing, what ever he does is on him and his supporters. if he is in the opposition then so be it he has a right to be there and right to his opinion no one can stifle it.

dude you need to grow out of your petty hatred.

I am not your typical left wing chap- in fact I find BJP's economic policies socialist leaning. That out of the way, having lived abroad and in India, while Modi is inviting all these foreign premieres to unconventional locations, he has to ensure the spread of economy to these uncharted territories. In India, what I see is that the system is not meritocratic at all-  I was expecting Modi government to improve it massively. Things have improved somewhat but it is still indistinguishable from what was the case earlier.

Modi and Xi meeting in Mahabalipuram is great for the city and its renovation. But I have to ask why didn't it get renovated earlier. Anyway its not in bad shape I'm assuming. I went there decades ago and was in decent shape. If both of them were meeting in Mahabalipuram then why waste time in Chennai. Xi's security felt it was safer traveling to Mahabs through road from Chennai rather than fly there from Chennai airport. Normally air should be safer than road. South Chennai was blocked for this visit especially the IT parks in OMR. I live in South Chennai and had to take diverted routes to go anywhere for two days

Decent shape but cleanliness an issue like in most tourist hubs in India (went there a couple of months back), hopefully that is now taken more seriously. More than anything, this will now put the town in world map, more tourism opportunities. Many Chinese tourists might feel like adding this in their itinerary thanks to recent publicity, after all it has ancient links with China.  Chinese tourists a potential gold mine for 'Incredible India' campaign, loaded with :money:and a huge middle class population, they also love to travel.

Well it was the 'Chennai Summit', Mahabalipuram was a half day event. Inconveniences are expected during such visits, Xi is a big cat like POTUS, Putin...apparently it is PRC policy to avoid chopper rides for their head LINK

Then there is the problem of accommodation and airport, Chennai was inevitable. Maybe our security personnel will learn, adapt and come up with new ways to make such experiences smoother for common folk. At least now that stretch must be cleaner, more organized and roads wider with clearing of encroachments.

Last year 2.4 lakh Chinese tourists visited India, 14 lakh Indians visited China !!!!

144 million international tourists from China last year, highest in the world....

Chinese tourists are the worst pieces of crap in the world. Atleast Indian tourists when they are outside India  tend to be timid and try not to break any rules but these Chinese bozos do the typical crap like jumping ahead or cutting through queue, laughing and giggling loudly, just be overall obnoxious.

I have seen this in atleast 3-4 tourist spots

in the USA
