Wasn't it the BJP who had accused the NCP/Pawar's of being Dawood Ibrahim's representatives in Maharashtra.

I think CM Fadnavis made that comment in a pre election speed. Guess the BJP are now okay with that.

Waiting for BJP sophistry to justify this now.

Had it been the day after the election, these questions would have been jais, but after being deceived by Thackeray, Raut right after the elections and their compromising stand with INC, their stanch rivals, this move by BJP makes it a sweet retribution. BJP - NCP were closer even in last term when they kept SS under leash, this time, SS pushed BJP to tie the nuptials with NCP.

We just don't know that. Thackeray claims that it was the BJP which back stabbed him in the back by not giving him the CMs chair for 2.5 years as they had agreed to before the polls.

They had the same demand even in the previous term, but with showing the NCP stick they had reigned in SS. This time, they had seat sharing with SS and even compromised by agree for more seats to SS. Once BJP got less than last time, they started to demand CM post. With almost 50% less seats than BJP how can even demand with a straight face?

If they both win around 50-50 percent seats then that demand is justifiable but with 105-56 it's impossible. If BJP would have agreed then in many states smaller parties will demand 2.5 years of cm post

not really. Sena vote will be divided so advantage is with this new trio alliance.

Usually Gujjus and Marathis of Mumbai are anti-congress and pro BJP (if you gujju) and pro Sena (if you marathi).. but this will push lot of marathis towards BJP..

50% marathis voted BJP alliance this election, so there are plenty of them who dont vote for BJP.

SS will only lose its urban votes, while its traditional voters are all dynastic lovers. Plus it gains complete minority votes. So currently its balle balle for SS. They will also get whitewashed and be seen as messiahs of secularism....

The Shiv Sena said that it wasn't a demand but a pre poll agreement between the two parties and the BJP had agreed to the share the CM's chair. But then again, they simply could be lying.

Based on my links, what I can for certainity say that Shiv Sena was ready to jump ship post LS elections. Its just that BJP got a majority.

There was nothing left in  Alliance. If I knew that, I am sure BJP knew too

Pre poll agreements are useless. The real game starts after the number of seats won by each party. I doubt if situation had been 100 for SS and 50 for BJP then SS would want full 5 years of CM term

And even a common sense will tell is why will a party that ruled 5 years with CM post riding on extreme popularity wave will give up CM post for 2.5 years.

Another point that goes against SS is that BJP leaders were openly saying Fadnavis as CM but Shiv Sena was silent. Why they did not tell people that there 2.5 year agreement ?
