City of london regularly bends these rules by making employees sign waivers. Iromically these people are the same people that support being in the eu. Actually it is max 48hours calculated as an average over 17 weeks with 11 hours between working shifts . It is something nearly all employers ( me included ) ask if employees want to opt out of , it is an employee's choice if they sign or not .
