Suhaan Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 No point having all the Gangulys and Gambhirs at helm when this TM is always there to raise their middle finger on their face and deliberately ignoring people other than chuddy buddies Mosher, Turning_track, Sgattick10 and 3 others 1 5
Sgattick10 Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 These foreign journos and writers already know about Shubman Gill and his talent yet out chutiya selectors will keep ignoring him for the likes of Rahane and Dhawan kyunki yaari, dosti and regional quota is more imp then talent. I mean they said Gill will easily find a spot in Australia or any other test side.. diehardpacer, Turning_track and Suhaan 2 1

That is the hope but Kohli will try his best to avoid such a scenario. But with Ganguly and Gambhir you can expect that they won't be just sitting their to cater to Sastry and Kohli. They will make their dislikes known if not imposing their thoughts. Ganguly will be more diplomatic in his position, Gambhir will be relatively direct. Also I expect Gambhir to put in selectors who will value talent and not just go by Kohli's whims and fantasies. He identified and backed Saini against all odds. He also created a good core during his KKR days. Sgattick10, nevada and Cricwala 3
zen Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 I haven't clicked on the links in the OP but the difference b/w the two teams could be sincerity and planning. If I am not wrong, Aus even spent some time to study the dew's impact in Mumbai express bowling and AuxiliA 2

We had golden period in tests under dravid (1-0 wins in Eng & still decent WI, first test win in SA) and chapell. Plus fired up Ganguly returned to FC and came back strong for last 2 years of his career. Ankit_sharma03 1

We keep recycling ttf rejects. That is because we have no plan. In ODIs, we should ideally be focused on players in the 27-28 yrs or less age group to groom/improve them for WC23. At the moment, it appears as if we are betting on players who would be around 35 in WC23 -> Kohli (34), Rohit (35), Dhawan (37), Karthik (37; though not in the scheme of things currently), Shami (real age?), Bhuvi (33), Rahane (34), ....
Cricwala Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 These cricket writers are saying what many of us fans have been saying for few years now. With massive funds & modernized training techniques we have accrued in last decade due to IPL, legacy of 2000s team which taught us to win overseas & development of fast bowling culture, we should have been a dominant force in cricket by now like China is in Olympics. Kohli-era chewtiyapa has slowed us down. Hopefully, this will be a world-beating team by 2026....of course, any of them can be replaced if we have a Tendulkar, or kapil dev burst on scene before then KL Rahul Shaw Padikkal/yashasvi Gill Pant Pandya Kuldeep Saini Bumrah/Mavi (bumrahs action might force early exit) Prasidh Nagarkotti
rahulrulezz Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Jadeja has been part of our ODIs since 2009. Yet, only 1 match winning fifty in his whole career. Yet we keep giving him place in our LOI team.. We keep trying Rahanes, Khaleel, Thakurs, Rayadus, Karthiks, Shankars again and again... We played Jadhav from 2016 all the way till 2019 Wcup, who had an average of 43 and strike rate of 110, yet dropped him from the most important game (the SF of 2019) an put Kartik in. We kept playiing Kuldeep from 2017 to 2019 and he kept winning matches, yet we dropped him in the most important game (the SF) over Chahal (who will always be inferior to Kuleep) Sgattick10 1

Yup, Jadhav shld hv been dropped like a hot potato after 2019 WC as shld Dhoni - his sabbatical crap is just plain bs.
