India should not experiment anymore with 4, 5 and 6 batting positions in ODI

This seems to be good 4,5 and 6....

Iyer

KLR

Pandey

Let's stick to this till the next world cup....

Good or bad.....we should infuse confidence to the current players ....

Chopping and playing musical chairs will always make the players ot play for place....It's a very bad idea

Pandya can replace jaddu...whenever he is available

India should blood in Gill by end of this year.

...

Gill

KL

Pant

Pandya

...

This should be our batting order

Get Shaw in the mix , Rohit/Dhawan should be rested for series against weak sides . Ideally I would want KL/Shaw opening , but there is no shortage of good openers .

Indeed.. the top order should be -

Rohit

Shaw

Kohli

Gill

KL

Pant

Pandya

Backup openers - Devdutt, Mayank, Jaiswal

Backup middle order - Riyan Parag, Piriyam Garg

My target ODI XI for WC 2023 ....

1. Rohit

2. Shaw

3. Kohli

4. Gill

5. Rahul

6. Hardik

7. Jadeja

8. Kuldeep

9. Shami / Bhuvi

10. Saini

11. Bumrah

---- But Iyer needs to be given his full run.

---- I want Hardik at 6 because it gives us 6 bowling options ... 3 specialist pacers ... 2 specialist spinners too.

---- Hardik at 7 means either 2 specialist pacers or just 1 specialist spinner ... don't like that.

---- Kuldeep and Shami need to practice their batting.

I disagree strongly,Pandey and Iyer have not cemented their places in the team yet,my personal opinion is that they are not good enough but they deserve a go.

Agreed

What if both Rohit and Dhawan are not playing next match?

Who will open with KL?

Iyer goes back to 4th, Pandey to 5th. I hope they play Dubey on 6th and not Kedar.

We can always bring in Mavi, Nagarkoti or Prasidh if they perform.

But can't name them yet till they actually perform in international.

But where ?

He can be in the squad.

Yes.

Rahul Chahar, Mavi and Nagarkoti bring batting ability without compromising on top quality bowling.

at 5 .....he is one of the best talent he cant be out

With time he ll also find his feet .

Pant shud be out of question when he doesnt perform for 40-50 games n gill n shaw perform n force team to make KL take up gloves. There is mayank also in picture and devditt is emerging....u never knw. Pant has only played 15-16 games out of which he performed in last series and look most solid in Semi final wreck against NZ

Has improved his keeping a lot.

Can consider him for T20.. But might take a toll on him to be a full time keeper in ODIs
