Indeed, the lack of major titles wins in T20i and ODI under his leadership are the biggest blot on his captaincy. Hope he gives us some major titles to celebrate like Kapil and Dhoni.

He captained just two tournaments and made it to finals and Semis in  them. How many T20 world cups did India play under Dhoni??

Show me one captain who has not lost two ICC tournaments. Why is everyone talking as if this guy has captained for a decade and kept losing tournaments.

It's not about losing but with the team he has at his disposal and the opposition that were against him.

Yes Dhoni should have been fired from T20 in 2010 and ODI's from 2015 but 2 wrongs don't make a right

What teams he had at his disposal???? in CT2017 he had two spinners who could not do anything in middle overs. He inherited that team.

World cup the biggest blunder was not selecting Iyer and selection of Karthik that cost him the world cup. Even then Kohli the batsman let Kohli the captain down.Kohli should have seen India thru to finals.

Upsets do happen.WI was still by far best team in the world in 1980s but they did not win world cup in 1980s.

There is nothing wrong with his captaincy.Stop acting as if this guy is useless captain.

What has this fool done in kos against all opponents barring BD,?atleast he could have made a 50 ,atleast for his own sake,he consistently failed as an individual too,the point of shame for him is ,besides being a captain he has looked like a sheep in those kos

Loosing and winning are two faces of coin, these things can be digested

But this moron, wannabe Hero fails every  damn time when his side needs him the most

So you don't want him in the team as a batsman.Yes he should have made runs against NZ and seen India thru , I put the blame the loss on Kohli the batsman.

There is nothing wrong in his captaincy.Stop mixing things.

He has excelled as batsman in T20 world cups pressure does not faze him.He just failed  in 3 knock outs in odis.Dhoni had help in 2011 , he did nothing till finals then also.

90s was actually a low point in Indian cricket.

The golden generation of Gavaskar, Vengsarkar , Kapil either moved out or at the end of their career.

Azhar and Wadekar built up a template for home series but clueless for away. Infact we were the worst of the worst during away series. We used to glorify home series wins and go mum during away series. (Unfortunately Dhoni post 2011 fallen for that template where we open tried to endorse home series wins and act indifferent to white washes in SENA countries)

Nepotism and Lobbying was at it's peak. People backed by Mumbai lobby and Azhar's favourites inspite of mediocrity continued to get chances.

Manju and Sastry were as usual more busy with fingering others rather than focussing on their performance. A young talented left hander of 21 who was considered one of the top most talent after Sachin was ridiculed during Australia tour and promptly cut off after he gave it back to Sastry and Manju for trying to bully him. Dont be surprised if you see similarity with Pant, KL, Saini? (It's a different thing that left hander came back strong in the second half of the decade, became the captain and led the golden generation of Indian cricket in 2000s)

Sandeep Patil and Bishen Sing Bedi used to be mainstream cricket experts. Patil was even the coach at some point. And both of them used to speak nonsense throughout just like what Bewda is doing today.

Lastly the highpoint - match fixing came up to the surface with direct involvement of captain, one of the batting mainstay , the number one Wicketkeeper and the number one all-rounder - all part of main team.

Think sarcasm when i refereed to 90s as golden period.

We talk about Aus in the late 90s to 200s and WI of the 70s and 80s but how many of us remember SA of the mid to late 90s which was equally ruthless and dominating?

The reason we don’t is because they never won a major tournament despite starting as overwhelming favorites.

Same applies here, Kohli’s legacy will be tied to that no matter what he accomplishes in bilaterals

Even those teams lost in ICC tournaments. 1980s WI never won world cup. They had one of the strongest teams in 1983 finals but lost to a very weak Indian team. It took Australian team 2006 to win Champions trophy even with those strong teams and they have never won a T20 world cup.

Kohli lost two tournaments stop acting as if he has lost tournaments for whole decade one in finals and other in semis.

When did Kohli captain T20 world cup??Kohli captained two ICC tournament CT 2017 and world cup 2019.

the 2020 one :D

I don't really see us winning this one either, because of poor selections, unclear mindset and choking. of course, if we win, then it will be a big plus in Kohli's record.

IMO  not selecting Iyer over Dinesh Karthik under Kohli is biggest blunder rest of them don't matter.. He has been saddled with a very unbalanced and top heavy team.It is not his fault that there no middle order batsmen available.

Iyer should have been selected that is big mistake plus Dhawan got hurt. You need some luck too in winning these tournaments ask Eoin Morgan.

Wont have mattered much iyer technique against swing n seam is nothing great. They had lockie as well and his game against short pitch is already becoming talk among opposition . Having said that any player can score on given day but chances of even iyer wasnt much when much superior batsman like rohit n kohli failed. Pant did a good job of settling at 4 when wkts were falling.

DK technically is far sound , blunder they did was DK mentally doesnt like that position and dhoni was ideal for that position . They flipped them in situation which they were comfortable.
