But I think they have made the right call, Patel gives them more control. Their squad looks solid - new opener Blundell did well against Aussies, so even that opener vulnerability is now plugged. Their tail will wag, as always. I would be tempted to play Jamieson over Colin. Vickydev and Suhaan 2 Link to comment
Sandeep99
Expecting a 2-0 hammering thanks to clueless brat and hosh-less process oriented bevda. This is a series we should at least draw 1-1. No excuses if we fail to do so. Link to comment
ShoonyaSifar
Boult, Southee, Wagner and CDG on a green pitch! NZ win the toss and insert us in Captain Doofus and Coach loudmouth must already be getting nightmares. The first choice keeper doesn’t inspire with the bat, they left out the main attacking spinner hoping the dust bowl hero comes to party, but he has struggled to take any top order wickets, the all rounder and no. 6 batsman at home may not even get a look in. Two guys whom these arrogant pricks threw out of home tests - Vihari and Pant - would suddenly be looking extra important to these jokers sergio04, raki05 and Cricwala 3 Link to comment

If he felt need of 5 bowlers to get 20 wickets at home, then surely we would need 5 bowlers overseas. He was all praise for Jadeja doing such a great job at 6, so how can that confidence dissipate so quick? Expecting Vihari and pant to fire in toughest matches without chance to hone their games in familiar home conditions is setting them up for failure. Link to comment

Other than Rohit, 10 players should pick themselves going by how this TM was planning home season. Mayank, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Jadeja, Saha, Ashwin, Umesh, Shami and Bumrah These 10 should play both the tests and in that order. Cricwala 1 Link to comment

Stan AF
I have full faith on our fast bowlers. They'll win one match at-least for sure. It's upto our batsmen to standup to the NZ bowling and make our bowlers have something to bowl at. Edited February 18, 2020 by Stan AF AuxiliA 1 Link to comment
The Dark Horse
I think Jamieson should be played instead of Southee. Southee is far too predictable. Not sure about tests though. Link to comment

It's upto our batsmen to standup to the NZ bowling and make our bowlers have something to bowl at. Test cricket needs both units to 'win' an innings to win the match. Even if the fast bowlers get 20 wickets for less than 500 or even about 400 - your batting unit still needs to score that much to finish the win. I'm optimistic that India will win this series, but its not a sure thing. I actually expect NZ to prepare at least one 'draw' track - one that helps pace bowler for one session or so but then settles down into a dodo. The toss in NZ is going to be a massive factor, especially on a track like that. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Last time we toured we played four bowlers. Sir Jaddu played both tests and was ineffective. 26-1-120-1 9-4-10-1 2-1-12-0 52-11-115-1 Both were highly winnable tests. Chasing 407 India was 222/2 with Dhawan and Kohli. Both were picked by Wagner in the first test Second test loss due to Kohli's fielding. Overall India's fielding was horrendous on that tour First test Vijay and Dhawan dropped 4 catches Seconed test NZ were 78/3 . Baz was on 9 28.1 0 Mohammed Shami to McCullum, no run, dropped at silly mid-on! Kohli, that was a relatively easy one! It was fullish and McCullum went through with a drive even though he wasn't to the pitch of it. It went to the left of Kohli but he snatched at it with his left hand and doesn't hold on. Came a lot slower than he expected. How costly is that going to be? Answer to that question is it was as costly as 294 runs. Stan AF and Sandeep99 1 1 Link to comment
